Chapter 103

• Cullen adjusted himself while holding up the two year old girl in his arms. The small girl had her tiny arms tightly wrapped around Cullen placing her head on chest and showing extreme dependence. Seeing the solemn looks everyone was wearing she dared not make noise or ask for ice cream. All she knew was that grandpa had gone to a nice place and for now they wouldn’t see him again so it was a ceremony to celebrate the fact that he went to a nice place; at least that was what Mama told her.
• Even with the way the little girl who was holding his neck tightly, Cullen wasn’t feeling any iota of discomfort and even if he was; he wasn’t showing it at all. He listened with rapt attention as people came forward to tell the rest what favors the old man had done them when he was still alive.
• The old man was strict and dangerous only when you messed with him and his own, but to those who deserved it, he brought each and every one of them to the path of success. As they got to the part where they had to pour sand on the casket, he slowly turned to the girl clinging to him.
