• The meeting with the PI didn’t last long. As soon as Kai got the information he needed, he dashed out of the office, stopped by his assistant’s desk, and asked her to book him a flight to the city where Kaia resided.
• He was both excited and nervous. After waiting what felt like forever, he was finally going to see the love of his life. Still, he worried about her reaction. That nervousness tripled as soon as he boarded the plane and made his way to the first-class lounge.
• He sat there, scrolling through his phone until he heard a voice over the intercom asking passengers to switch off their phones for takeoff.
