• It wasn’t fucking working.
• Kai paced back and forth in his office. The small ingrown hair on his chin made him look slightly older than usual. He was restless. A certain brunette with beautiful black eyes and the softest lips he’d ever kissed was keeping him awake.
• He thought staying away from her would help. He thought the feelings he was developing would disappear. He thought she’d eventually fade from his mind. That was his version of “things getting better.”
