• Kaia was bored out of her mind in the mansion. In times like this, she wished she still had her job—something to keep her busy throughout the day now that Jane was not around.
• She made a mental note to talk to Kai about getting a job. Things hadn’t gone right the first time, but clearly, things were different now.
• After the dinner date with Kai, which led to yet another intense sexual encounter, Kaia returned alone to the villa. Kai had received a call, saying he was needed out of town for a meeting with some business partners. He immediately called the driver to pick Kaia up from the hotel where they were staying and take her back to the villa. Just as they were stepping out of the hotel, Venice pulled up in her car, and it was in that car they drove to the airport.
