Chapter 99 Naughty Children

• It was awkward carrying things up the companionway when the ship was moving, especially when she knew Alfred was watching her. Layla didn't make a very graceful job of it, deciding that if this was her hour of exercise, then she still had a lot of it due.
• She went and sat on a box in the bow, letting the breeze lift her hair and the strong smell of the sea fill her nose. Alfred had followed her on deck, so the crew kept their distance.
• She went to her cabin while they were having their meal. She would stick to his rules today and start breaking them tomorrow, Layla decided. She would have liked to talk to Roy, though, and presumably, he felt the same because he slipped a note under her door.
