Chapter 118 The Unsettled Sea
- For a moment, she had thought it was Mark, but the height of the shoulder her head was leaning against made her realize it was Alfred. He stood her up but kept a firm grip on her arm.
- "You little fool, you could have gone overboard!" he shouted at her, his voice raised not only in anger but to be heard above the wind. Pulling her after him, he went down the main hatch and into the navigation room, in between the galley and his own cabin. He flicked on the light over the chart table, giving enough light to see but leaving the corners of the cabin in deep shadow.
- "Haven't you got more sense than to lean over the rail in a stiff blow like this?" Alfred demanded angrily, but then answered his own question. "No, of course you haven't. I ought to have known you would do something stupid like that."
