• "Tie her up," Thayer repeated, and two more men came in from the hall. The shorter one went directly to Mira, reached down, and pulled her up out of her chair roughly. He had barely completed his move when he was struck by a big grey thunderbolt - Mira's wolf.
• Mira's wolf was wrestled between her and the man, and she had shifted and thrown herself across the chair, locking her huge jaws on the man's upper arm. Both tumbled to the floor in a snarling pile.
• "Oh dear Moon goddess," the second man yelled from the hall and came charging in.
