Chapter 54 Nothing To Be Proud Of

  • "Yes, the same Wallace family, the welfare home refused to release any information regarding the child but Olivia Wallace has twins and there is at least an 80% possibility that one or both are yours,". Xiomara drove to Morriox conglomerate with Loretta's last words ringing in her head. "That idiot has the guts to steal my child," Xiomara said. She just couldn't believe it, she and Olivia were on good terms back at the welfare home and she did nothing to warrant such treatment from her. "Perhaps not everyone you think is your friend is actually your friend," she said. She thought Eleanor was her friend, she even took her as a sister but she betrayed her and Olivia, she was pregnant with her own child so why steal hers? Xiomara paused, she never saw Olivia's tummy as it was hidden under oversized clothing. "Maybe the idiot wasn't pregnant at all and stole my babies," Xiomara sniffed wiping the small tears in her eyes. "Enough of the threat message to Olivia, it's high time they pay for messing with me, I would make sure they all regret it and I would never forgive them," Xiomara said driving into Morriox conglomerate. She hesitated for a while before she alighted from her car and walked in.
  • On getting to her office, she saw a pretty white cat on her table, she looked around wondering what it was with the everyday gift. She carried the cat and petted it, the cat purred enjoying her touch. "I figured out you might still miss your cat," Morris said. "My cat?" Xiomara asked. "Yeah the one you told me about, the one that betrayed you and went to your neighbours," Morris said and Xiomara mouthed an "okay," recalling when she had the conversation with him. "Thank you, I really appreciate it," Xiomara said, she never thought Morris would believe the lie not to talk of thinking it this far into buying her a cat, she wasn't really a cat person.
  • Morris smiled walking towards her. "So you are still up for lunch with me right?" Morris asked. Xiomara stared at him, she had totally forgotten about the whole lunch arrangement with him, she had a lot going on and eating lunch was the least of her problem. "Yes sir, but this would be the last, I really don't want to be seen with you while your divorce from your wife is very fresh, I don't want people thinking I'm the cause of the divorce," Xiomara said. "Come on Genesis, stop behaving like a child, we are adults now and I thought we had a connection the other day," Morris began. "Let's just get married and I promise to make you the happiest woman on earth," Morris said and she smiled. She doesn't owe her happiness to anyone, only she can make herself happy if she so decides to do so. "Well I don't believe in marriage, I remember saying that to you and I also don't believe in dating, I just want to be single for the rest of my life," Xiomara said. "And I said I would wait until you start believing in marriage," Morris said and Xiomara smiled. "Happy waiting," she thought. "I just want this to be the very last, let's go back into working as professionals, the high school reunion is over," Xiomara said. "And it's time to settle all old scores with everyone that has wronged me," Xiomara thought seating down.
