Chapter 94 Meeting Old Friends

• “Mom, are you sure this would work?” I asked my mother as I stamped my feet like a small child. I had no doubts about my abilities, but it had been many years since I last summoned the other supernatural species. I don’t even remember it. Most of the stories I knew about summoning fairies, mermaids, elves, and gnomes were based on other people’s memories; they just told me about them and considered it my version of the story as well. I was too young to remember, and that’s what has been bothering me right now.
• “Yes, it will. Where are all these doubts coming from, Agatha?” Mom chastised me. I get it. We have gone a long way to be wary now. Summoning the other species is the first significant step in fulfilling the prophecy. We must let them know it’s now safe for them to come out of hiding, that we can live side-by-side with other species without looking over our shoulders, with no fear. But at the same time, summoning them may attract future threats; the ‘not so friendly’ species may take this as an opportunity to strike, like the ghouls, demons, and djinns. And what about the vampires? Should I also summon them? I took another deep breath to ready myself and calm my nerves.
