Chapter 19 Childhood Friend

  • It was nine in the morning when I opened my eyes the following day. There’s a Post-it note from Aleck on my bedside table. He wants to throw a welcome party for me. I don’t think that’s a good idea, though. I rushed to the bathroom for a quick shower. I grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a loose-fitting t-shirt from the wardrobe before sprinting to the training ground. If I remember correctly, training lasts until noon. It means I still have a couple of hours to sweat.
  • As I jog to the training ground, I notice a lot of improvements in the pack premise. They put on a couple of obstacle courses in the training ground. Their size tells me that one is for full-grown wolves and she-wolves, and the other is for teens and pre-teens. They doubled the number of lamp posts, and in between, they installed concrete boxes as partitions with flowering plants in them. The whole area looks beautiful and more lively than it ever was. Every other lamp post displays art from some talented youths in the pack.
  • As I stood at the entrance of the training ground, I could see the intense training program they designed for the warriors and able members. And I understand. Every pack can face any form of attack anytime, whether from rogues or enemy packs. Enemies can attack from the shared borders with other neighboring packs or from the coastal area. This is a serious proactive mindset, and I’m loving it.
