Chapter 46 Freedom

• We bolted out of the dungeon after Bastien unlocked my cuffs and shackles. Using the keys from the warriors guarding our cell, we also agreed to unlock the cuffs holding Elaine and Samuel to the wall, but not the shackles attached to the floor. I know this will anger Nathaniel further. Escaping his dungeon and killing his warriors is an insult in itself. Freeing other prisoners is a direct challenge to his authority. Although we didn’t free them completely, even if we could, it may be perceived as ridiculing him even more.
• I think it was the humane thing to do. They suffered a huge blow from him, barely holding up. Lying on the floor with shackles is not the most comfortable position either, but it’s better than hanging limp against the wall.
