Chapter 27

  • She moved her body from his grip and climbed onto his back so that he covered more ground on all fours. "Run towards the fencing. It's pure iron." He moved over towards the fencing, and she reached out grabbing the iron fence and breaking off a rod as he continued towards the church. The shadow hounds were catching up as one leaped onto Dave's back Ariel swung the rod and making contact as the hound was dispersed into thin air. They were closer to the church now and the hounds stopped dead in their tracks and Dave leaped but something plowed through him knocking him over and Ariel landing hard. She saw the hounds creeping and Dave trying to get back up but his ribs down to his hips were collapsed. She ran over to his side and crouching as her eyes were blaring white as light escaped her mouth catching two of the hounds that had wondered too close. Her hands became claws digging into the earth. The creatures retreated back towards back to where they had come from. Dave putting his arm around her shoulder as she helped him into the broken church. Bones had pierced some organs as he coughed up blood. Her face was upset because she didn't want to see him get hurt.
  • "This is going to hurt my love. You know I hate you right."
  • He chuckled though it hurt him to laugh, "I wouldn't expect anything less."
