Chapter 3

  • Elena Beck hurried to her class which didn’t help that her pack house were making it difficult for her to do anything. Yes she was rogue what they considered a half breed. She sat down at her desk and by the end of it she was caught up and was able to take the test. Some of the other students didn't really talk to her because they all knew she what she was. Being a werewolf or living at a pack house wasn't a secret considering this town had three main packs. She ate lunch alone which was fine she was use to being alone. She went to her next class but the instructor was sick so she was given the assignment. She finished it and had it turned in before the normal class time was over. She rode her bike through town and enjoying the sunlight. She didn't have to go in till a little later so she went to the beach which was fifteen minutes away. She kept a bathing suit on her on days like these as she changed in the private changing room unlike earlier. She was angry that the general made her change in front of everyone. However, it was better than being whipped in public. She went swimming and then tanned a little in the sun. She didn't know she was beign watched. she looked up and saw Calvin who watching her a little more lately. she tried ignoring him but low and behold Carla came over. She was Stephen's mistress.
  • "Thought you were in class Elena?"
  • "I got to finish early. Plus, I have a little time before going to work. I don't have to explain everything I do and don't do."
  • "What if I told Stephen or Dave that you were not where you are supposed to be?"
  • "Like I matter to them. You matter because well because. To them as long as I stay out of their way. I am invisible."
  • "Calvin wants you to come over. You should. If you are nice to him, he might buy you something expensive."
  • "I can earn my way. I wish Stephen would let me work in the garage. I could do a lot of repair work."
  • "You could earn you way just giving Stephen or even Calvin a blow job. Who are you saving yourself for anyways? No one is going to choose you as their mate, half-breed."
  • "Ugghh, no thank you. I don't need some guy groping me when I am more than just my body. I am straight A student who works. Besides, I just found out I might can go to school overseas. I can get a job. I won't be a thorn in anyone's side. Alas, I won't be in the way anymore."
  • "Pipe dreams. Now come on before Calvin gets impatient."
  • "You are over there. He can give you the attention that would have been for me." She looked at her watch and realize it was time for her to go anyways.
  • "I got to go. Later."
  • "Stephen is going to be pissed at what you just did."
  • "It won't be the first time and it won't be the last time, either."
  • Carla called Stephen, "Hey master."
  • "I am working so this had better be good."
  • "Little mis virgin just dismissed your best friend Calvin."
  • "Why?"
  • "She was tanning saying that she finished early at school. She was wearing a blue bathing suit."
  • "Was it a bikini or what?"
  • "A one piece. She refused him as if it was nothing. You want me to get one of the deltas to go after her or what?"
  • "No. I already have others taking over her chores. Just say nothing to her. We are dealing with her very soon."
  • "What about Calvin?"
  • "Tell him that she is playing hard to get. That we are going to be training her very soon to be more submissive."
  • "Yes alpha."
  • Elena grateful that she wasn't around Carla who was the snitch for Stephen and Dave. She had changed into her work clothes and grabbed a bite to eat. She worked a regular job to save her money. So she could just leave the pack house and not be a slave to their every whim. Then on weekends she had twelve hour days. Which consisted of doing everything while everyone else had fun. Which was why she no life of her own. she wanted to date and have a solid relationship. She couldn't have that while living in that dreadful place. She began working on the job she had stopped the day before. She had finished while Gafford was making his rounds.
  • "You are almost as good as my oldest son, Elena. He may want to steal you and take you on as one of his workers."
  • "I don't think that I am that good."
  • "You are better than you think. He trained you and plus with the schooling you have.. you should be making more."
  • "What I make here is just fine. I am not complaining."
  • "You work too hard."
  • "At least I am useful here. At the pack house I am well you know."
  • "Yeah, I know kid. My son has some friends overseas. One of them is from Scotland. If you ever want to meet him. I can arrange it."
  • "To the members of the Pack house I am not marriage material."
  • "Don't listen to them. You are a good girl, who will make any man. Regardless, if he is a werewolf or human a good wife. Now go back to work."
  • She laughed as the wind blew and with it she saw some storm clouds. She wondered if there was going to be a storm later. But something in her bones said that maybe it was a warning of things to come her way.
  • At break time she looked over her schedule and jotting down notes as the guys there were joking with her. A lot of them were rogues from other packs and others were shifters and half-breeds. She got along with everyone. She went back to her schedule and thinking about how life might be once she was away.
  • The only day she had off was Thursday. Which she left the pack house for the entire day and didn’t return home till Friday at six before anyone was up. She was surprised that the Alpha of her pack allowed her to go to schooling considering she was already certified in welding but she wanted business management associate degree. She just wanted to be on her own and not live where she wasn’t wanted. Her class went by pretty quick and then on to her job where she worked at least eight hours but it paid really well and she was paid cash. Something the pack house never knew or were able to take from her. The day went by as usual from eight till ten she worked at the pack house making sure her chores were done and completed. By twelve till two she was in school. Then by three till nearly midnight she worked. This was Monday through Friday except Thursday. Then the weekend she was devoted to the pack house except Sunday because she worked in the garage. Elena felt like Cinderella only it was the werewolf version.
  • She had thought many times about running away and moving on her own. Having the true freedom and independence she had truly long for. She had the money and savings, but she thought about the repercussions of jumping too soon as well. However, she made herself a promise she was going to finish her business courses and get her degree. That was all that she could think of. She didn't know if she wanted to get married right away but she knew one day she wanted a nice home for a family of her own. whoever she married needed to understand that she wanted to be an equal not beneath. A few of the college girls were talking about marrying their boyfriends after graduation. Others were going to wait till they were more established. As for her she thought about marrying a guy who wanted her for her regardless of her mother's choices, Elena wasn't mad at her mother. She thought her mother was a hero for fighting for love, but she never got the chance to be with her choice. When Elena was born, they said her mother died during labor. Somehow, it didn't sit right with Elena. It was getting late when everyone was leaving to go home. She was just finishing up when Gafford came by and handed her, her pay.
  • Gafford looked over everything and expecting it. "You really are getting better. A lot of the guys are going up north for a big job. They requested that you put in for it. You know if you considered that job with the shipyard, you would make a lot more money.”
  • “I know but being that I still got a few more months at the college. I just want to finish it.
  • “You are killing yourself by do so much, you know?”
  • “It’s for a good cause. Besides I wouldn’t mind going overseas, but I need to have my ducks in a row. Can you put this with the rest of my money?"
  • "You know I will. Look the job won't be leaving for another month. Just consider it. Your school will understand. You can always finish everything online."
  • "I just don't want to jump without looking. What if I fail? Because once I leave the pack house. I can never return. Because I will be marked as a rogue."
  • "This isn't the ancient days either. I hire rogues and they lead productive lives. Just think about it is all. Now, do you need a ride home?”
  • “I got my bicycle. Plus, there is hardly any traffic out, so it won’t take me long to get home.”
  • "My daughter's oldest son just bought a new motorcycle. He is selling is old one. I could inquire about it if you like?"
  • "Oh my gosh yes please!"
  • "I thought so. He is bringing it here tomorrow. You are more than welcome to look at it and take it for a spin."
  • She already knew how to ride thanks to his grandson. He took her to her prom as friends. They left the prom a little early so for fun he took showed her how to ride. She actually got to go to a party where she met other creatures of the night. She still managed to message them from time to time.
  • "Please tell I will be here around noon to check it out."
  • She got on her bike and now was grinning ear to ear as she was going to get a motorcycle. She was enjoying the thought of riding it all over especially on road trips. Gafford laughed as he watched her leave with a giant grin. He had another surprise because her eighteen birthday no one care enough to get her anything or throw her a party. His grandson was giving his motorcycle to her. His grandson had more than enough money. So, giving her the motorcycle, after she saved him over twenty-thousand dollars. Was worth it. His daughter already had bought Elena a new helmet for the motorcycle.
  • When Elena left work one of Stephen's men watched her leave.
  • "She just left work boss."
  • "Call Calvin and let him know that she is heading into town."
  • "Yes sir."
  • The soldier got on the phone and made the call and then left following her to see where she was going. She passed several buildings but made a quick stop and that was the cemetery where her mother was buried. Elene didn't get a chance earlier, so she made a quick stop. She kissed her hand then put her hand on her mother's tomb. "Momma I love you. Your little girl is trying. I think about you every day. My white knight hasn't come but that's okay momma. I miss you. I will see you tomorrow. With flowers too. I will see you again one day."
