Chapter 5 The Vision

• After hearing what Queen Rebeca said everyone in the hall became terrified and anxious but head General Ben burst into laughter and everyone wondered why he was laughing including Queen Rebeca. Everyone watched head General Ben while he laughed, and head General Ben stopped laughing when he noticed they were all looking at him weirdly. Head General Ben looked at everyone as they looked at him weirdly and then he said to everyone “don’t tell me you all believe these absurd words. This is nothing but a blasphemy”.
• Queen Rebeca faced head General Ben and asked him “are you saying what the priestess said is illogical and blasphemy?”.
• “What you said truly contradicts our belief. Is that not right, your royal majesty?” head General Ben asked Queen Rebeca.
• “Yeah, it contradicts our belief because it is prophesied by the first priest that nothing will be able to conquer Arcadian and if the other Kingdoms continue to live under Arcadian rule nothing will also be able to conquer them too” said Queen Rebeca.
• Head General Ben asked Queen Rebeca “then why come here saying you had a vision where all kingdoms were conquered and all lives were lost?”.
• “Because it is a vision had by two priestesses at the same time so it can be nothing but a future that is going to come to pass” said Queen Rebeca.
• “And if I may ask you, who conquered the kingdoms and brought death to us all? What become the end of our legacies?” head General Ben asked Queen Rebeca.
• “The Arkians. The vision talks about the Arkians winning the battles and ending everyone, and our legacies” said Queen Rebeca.
• Everyone got more terrified hearing Queen Rebeca except for head General Ben who laughed again and stopped laughing as he said to Queen Rebeca “now you see your vision is blasphemy. We were told we will never be conquered and now you are telling us we will all be killed and conquer. How do you want us to believe that is true?”.
• “Indeed, we have never been conquered because of the prophecy of the first priest, but I am telling you all to believe what I saw. It was a priest who said we will not be conquered and it is a priestess who is also telling you there is a future where we were all killed and our legacies lost is fast approaching. You all need to listen to me and believe me” said Queen Rebeca.
• King Hartley asked Queen Rebeca “are you telling the truth, Queen Rebeca? What is truly happening?”.
• Queen Rebeca looks at everyone in the hall including her son to see how scared and worried they all are about the vision she saw. Queen Rebeca stared at her son for a while before answering King Hartley's question by saying “I don’t know. I don’t even know why we were shown such vision. All I know is that we are all in danger”.
• Hearing that, everyone remained anxious and terrified but head General Ben stood up from his seat and walked to Queen Rebeca. Upon getting to Queen Rebeca, head General Ben stopped close to Queen Rebeca and said “there is no need for anyone to panic nor should we believe the priestess. How can the priestess just walk in telling us that there has been a change to our future and prophecy, and don’t know what is happening? I am not even sure the priestess knows anything except for the vision”.
• “Yeah, the great general is right. What has caused the change in our future is unknown. Why it has never happened until now is also unknown. But believe me, this is going to happen to us soon. I have no reason to lie” said Queen Rebeca.
• “Every Kingdom has always believed the priest and priestess's words even though we don’t like them. and it is known that the priest and priestess always find the solution to every problem. I believe it is not possible for everything that had been left and passed down to us to just be destroyed without a way out” said King Kung Lim.
• “Yeah, your majesty is right. After seeing such a vision, I and priestess Mary went further into the vision to confirm if the vision was going to come to pass and if there was a way for everyone to avert such a future. We find out the vision is true and will come to pass in a short while but for everyone to avert such a future, there is only one thing to be done” said Queen Rebeca.
• “You all could……….…….” said head General Ben.
• Head General Ben was cut short of words as King Hartley cut in telling him to shut up which he did. King Hartley looked at Queen Hartley and asked her “what is the only one thing that can be done?”.
• “It may sound weird and absurd, but trust me that is the only thing that can make us escape the future” said Queen Rebeca, and paused for a while before saying “We have to leave our world to avert the future and save everyone”.
• Everyone in the hall was shocked and confused to hear that except head General Ben who refused to believe Queen Rebeca. King Rahim asked Queen Rebeca “leave our world? What are you talking about and how is that even possible?”.
• “Yeah. We have to leave this world to another. This world has forsaken us and turned against us. What I have said indeed sounds weird and impossible, but it is the job of the priestesses to make sure the impossible is possible. It is the job of I and priestess Mary to find us a way out of this world to another world” said Queen Rebeca.
• Hearing Queen Rebeca started up noise inside the hall as everyone in the hall began to talk to each other except King Hartley who stared at his wife as she was staring back at him. Prince Ragon and Prince Ranork also look at everyone in the hall, and head General Ben realizes that everyone seems to believe Queen Rebeca. Head General Ben said out loud “you all could not possibly believe what the priestess has just said”.
• Hearing head General Ben got the attention of the Kings and the others in the hall back, and they stopped talking to hear what the great General had to say.
• Head General Ben continued realizing they were ready to listen to him. Head General Ben said courageously “all that the priestess had said is nothing but gibberish. She first said we all be killed and conquered, and now she is saying we have to leave our homes. She wants us to leave our homes and everything our forefathers fought to build, so tell me how that doesn’t sound ridiculous to you all. Not only are her words absurd, but it also sounds cowardly. It seems the fear of the news of the arrival of the Arkians had not only affected the people but the priestesses as well. The priestesses had become so scared of the Arkians to the extent that they thought us running away is the only way we can survive the Arkians, but that would only make us all a coward. There has not been any belief that another world existed before the coming of the Arkians. It was the Arkians that made us believe that they might be another world from ours which is where the Arkians come from, but I think, the Arkians didn’t come from any other world except from the underworld to torment us. With me, you all have nothing to worry about. Just like King Hamad had done back then, I will protect our world from the Arkians and send them back to the hell they crawl out of. I will also make sure I create armies terrifying enough for the Arkians before I die. You all can trust me on that”.
• Hearing head General Ben, Queen Rebeca saw some people in the hall agree to what the great General said because they believed in him. Queen Rebeca said to everyone “I am not going to force anyone to believe me but you should know I have never attended this meeting but the fact that I did on the first day of the arrival of Arkians should mean something. Why do you think the priests and priestesses were given these powers? It is not because it is to make us superior to other humans like us, it is so that we can be guardians to everyone and help in every way we can. The great General said I fear the Arkians but is there anyone in this hall that can beat me in a fight? No one in this hall can stand up to me, not even the great General. I am more powerful than you all and can single-handedly hundreds of Arkians because of the powers I possess. The gods had given us the vision to see our downfall and they had also given us a way out which means the gods haven’t forsaken us and have kept their promise that we will never be conquered. This is not us running but us saving lives for a better future. No one knows how the first priest came into our world, and it was a rumor back then that he came from afar with his magical powers because he looked and acted nothing like us. The first priest and the Arkians are enough to make us realize our world isn’t the only one that exists because I am sure nothing about someone having magical powers existed before the coming of the first priest. There are other worlds out there that we can go to save everyone and the priestesses will find a way to go there, but in the meantime, we all should stay behind the great walls to protect everyone”.
• Hearing Queen Rebeca, head General Ben could see some people in the hall believe Queen Rebeca. Head General Ben smiled and said “am sure you can all hear her. She sounds like a coward too. She wants us to stay behind the great walls and watch the Arkians bring the battle to our home. She didn’t see any vision nor did any other world exist anywhere. She is only here to use her influence as the priestess to make you all believe that fighting behind the great walls is the only way to protect us from the Arkians. The Queen……….”.
• Head General Ben was cut short of words as King Duran cut in saying to head General Ben “do not try to twist the words of the priestess, great General. Ever since the priest/priestess title came into existence, it has become the duty of everyone to listen, respect, and obey the words of the priest or priestess because they are closer to the gods than every one of us. But here you are, calling the priestess a liar all because you wanted to show another act of bravery against the Arkians. Those before us had always listened to the priestess which is why they were able to survive till now. We all have to listen to the priestesses if we are all going to survive, including you, great General”.
• Head General Ben said “I will only listen and believe what the priestess said only if she comes with the news of us being victorious against the Arkians or how to defeat the Arkians and close the portal in the sky. It has always been the job of the priest/priestess to find a way to close the portal in the sky and none had been able even with their powers. So I think the priestess should focus on that instead of coming to the council to speak lies. The……..”.
• Head General Ben couldn’t finish his word as King Hartley cut in telling him to shut up and saying to him “I will not let you disrespect or disregard my wife. Nor will I let you call her a liar. Don’t forget she is also your Queen so you should respect her more”
• While King Hartley shut up head General Ben and talked to him, everyone bowed their head knowing King Hartley was annoyed by the great General’s words except for Queen Rebeca. King Hartley told head General Ben to apologize to Queen Rebeca for calling her a liar and he did.
• Just then, a military messenger hurriedly entered the hall, walked toward King Hartley, and stopped kneeling in front of King Hartley with his head bowed. Everyone in the hall saw the military messenger as he entered and kneeled in front of King Hartley, and then assistant General Suci asked the messenger “what news did you bring this late at night?”.
• “Your royal majesty, I am sorry to break this news but Vraklin kingdom is presently under attack by the Arkians” said the messenger.
• Hearing the messenger, everyone in the hall becomes shocked, terrified, and anxious.
