Chapter 11 It Hasn't Ended Ii
- When assistant General Suci was brought to the royal physicians in the palace treatment hall, they all took a closer look at his wounds and checked on him but then they all said it would be impossible to treat him because his body had been badly damaged and even though they manage to treat him there is a slim chance he would survive.
- King Hartley, head General Ben, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, priestess Mary, and Alice all became sad and worried upon hearing the news the physicians gave concerning assistant General Suci. King Hartley didn’t know whether to tell the physicians whether they should leave assistant General Suci or treat him even though he might not later survive but then Queen Rebeca refused to believe the physicians and decided to take over the care of assistant General Suci.
- Queen Rebeca told the physicians that she was not ready to lose her brother now and would treat her brother herself making sure he survived but she would be needing their help. The physicians said to Queen Rebeca that there was no way she could treat assistant General Suci and King Hartley tried to talk her out of it but Queen Rebeca insisted that she would treat him and would make sure her brother lives.
- Everyone told Queen Rebeca that she couldn't treat assistant General Suci since she is not a physician but then priestess Mary said they should leave her and assist her in taking care of assistant General Suci while they wait for the result. After King Hartley permitted Queen Rebeca to treat assistant General Suci, Queen Rebeca said to head General Ben “if anything happens to Suci, it’s all on you”.
- Head General Ben couldn’t forget the last thing assistant General Suci said before he went unconscious which was that the Arkians were coming for them, and that had been ringing in his head. Head General Ben thought to himself that assistant General Suci saw something and it was also something that wounded him badly in that way which could be nothing but the Arkians which are the only deadly and dangerous creatures in their world.
- Head General Suci had already been suspecting that something was up with the Arkians so hearing assistant General Suci's last words and seeing the way he was wounded were enough to make head General Ben truly believe something was truly up with the Arkians and they were coming for them. The kingdoms all have to prepare for the Arkians and the only way to make that happen is through the head King so head General Ben went to his brother.
- King Hartley was alone in the royal pavilion standing and looking around the palace while he thought about all that had happened ever since the Arkains had returned when head General Ben arrived and made his presence known to King Hartley.
- King Hartley and head General Ben sat down opposite each other in the pavilion after head General Ben made the purpose of his visit known to King Hartley. Head General Ben said “I am sure your royal majesty, remember what Suci said before he went unconscious and how badly he was injured?”.
- “Yes. I heard too and we all heard what the physicians said even though the head Queen refused to listen to the physicians and decided to take care of her brother herself” said King Hartley.
- “There is nothing that could have wounded Suci like that if not the Arkians. I am sure Suci saw the Arkians again which is why he said they are coming for us” said head General Ben.
- “Are you saying we haven’t fully defeated all the Arkains this time around?” asked King Hartley.
- “Yes, your royal majesty. I did say the Arkains had gotten smart but they have gotten way smarter than I thought. I think the Arkians can even strategize now which was impossible for them. Something has changed about the Arkians” said heas General Ben.
- “I am sure you are saying this with proof. What has changed?” asked King Hartley.
- “Before I and the armies engage in a battle against the Arkains, I sent scouts to all the kingdoms to find out if Arkains are lurking around places closer to the kingdoms but they came back saying they are none after thoroughly searching places, and then the Arkains attacked the kingdoms at once dividedly. It is not possible for the Arkians not to pass through I and the armies if they were going to the kingdoms but then we didn’t see them or traces of them until they attacked the kingdoms. That is to show that both the Arkians that first attacked Vraklin and the ones that attacked the kingdoms at once have arrived earlier and have been hiding from the kingdoms. There was also something strange about the Arkains we fought on Barrow road, it was like they were fighting to sacrifice themselves for a greater purpose. All this should be proof that the Arkains can strategize and have gotten smart. I think the Arkains are scheming something which I am yet to find out” said head General Ben.
- “If the Arkains can scheme then that is not good for us. Thinking about all that you said shows that the Arkians that first attacked Vraklin did that to lure the armies out of the kingdoms. The Arkains you fought on Barrow road also did that to keep the armies busy while the Arkains that have hidden so well close to the kingdoms could attack the kingdoms at once. If the Arkains that first attacked Vraklin and the ones you fought at Barrow road attacked us for a reason then what about the Arkains that attacked all the kingdoms at once? What reason could they have attacked us?” said King Hartley, as he realized the Arkains had gotten smart and could now scheme.
- “I think, your royal majesty, is beginning to understand what I am saying. We don’t know the reason for the last Arkains attack but hearing from Suci tells us it hasn’t ended. The Arkains are still coming and we need the army to fight them. Only your royal majesty can give the command. We can not fight with the army with have at our hands or else we want to be defeated. Suci said they are coming so it hasn’t ended” said head General Ben.
- “I hear you and understand you. Just like you are, the ministers are also right concerning the people. I do not think the people are ready to let go of their sons for now. They will all want to hold their sons close to them. I am supposed to be a head King that would make his people safe and happy but the coming of the Arkians had made me the opposite” said King Hartley unhappily.
- “That is not true. This is the only way to keep them safe and the legacies alive. Soldiers losing their lives to the Arkains in battles is what had been happening since the first arrival of the Arkians that is why they are called warriors. The loss of soldiers' lives is why the kingdoms still exist now because the warriors are ready to lay down their lives to protect their homes. You do not need to request their sons from them. All you have to do is make awareness that the recruitment of soldiers has started and if there is anyone that would like to join should come to the palace to come see me” said the head General Ben.
- “Do you think that is going to work?” asked King Hartley.
- “Yes, it will. Though it has been the parents who always gave their sons to the army on your request, it is also the dream of every young male to become a warrior that fights against the Arkains to protect their home and family” said head General Ben.
- “Okay. We will try that. Call the council meeting and let's discuss this” said King Hartley.
- Head General Ben was happy that King Hartley listened to him and had agreed to make sure they raised and prepared an army for the Arkains who were coming. Head General Ben thanked King Hartley for reasoning and listening to him, and called him a great King for making the right decision.
- A council meeting was held in the Arcadian kingdom and King Hartley gave his command on the army and how people should be recruited to the army. The ministers of the Arcadian kingdom didn’t agree with King Hartley's decision even though the way the army recruitment was going to be done was lenient to the people so they tried to talk King Hartley out of it but he didn’t listen to them and told them to obey him or else they will all be charged with treason.
- Messages were also sent to the other kingdoms that they should begin recruitment to the army because it had been reported that the Arkains were still coming so the fight and battle against the Arkians hadn’t ended. The way the recruitment should be done and that they should keep the secret of the Arkains from the people was also part of the messages so as not to make the people panic again and stop their son from joining the army.
- Assistant General Suci had been moved to his chamber where he was receiving treatment from Queen Rebeca and priestess Mary. The physicians who were supposed to assist Queen Rebeca treat assistant General Suci found themselves doing nothing because Queen Rebeca and priestess Mary were using their powers to treat assistant General Suci so he could survive, and that was not the aspect the physicians knew nor did they know anything about that. All that the physicians did was just watch the head Queen and the priestess while they used their magic on assistant General Suci and helped them get things they wanted to get.
- It took five days before Queen Rebeca and priestess Mary were able to magically heal all the wounds in assistant General Suci's body, and the physicians who were always watching the head Queen and the priestess were amazed at what their magical powers could do because they saw all the wound close up magically. The physicians even check on assistant General Suci to know about his inner wound and they also find out his inner wounds have also been healed which amazes them more.
- Even though all the wounds on assistant General Suci were healed, the facts said by the physicians remained. The survivor of assistant General Suci is a 50/50 chance. He may not wake up and survive or may not.
- Head General Ben was right about the fact that it is the dream of every young man to become a warrior. Many joined the army even though some parents were against it. Their sons all wanted to become warriors even though it may cost them their lives so there was nothing their parents could say or do to stop their sons from becoming warriors.
- Head General Ben spearheads the training of the recruits in the Arcadian kingdom with Prince Ragon and Prince Ranork assisting him. Head General Ben made sure he trained more archers in archery and swordsmanship to be able to fight with swords when needed.
- On the 7th day which was in the morning, Queen Rebeca was alone with assistant General Suci who was still unconscious on his bed in his chamber telling him how their childhood was and how much she missed him when assistant General Suci regained consciousness and opened his eyes. As assistant General Suci opened his eyes, he realized all his pain was gone even though he felt very weak. Assistant General Suci first managed to lift all parts of his body and checked on his wounds to see he had been fully healed before he looked around to see he was in his chamber and his older sister talking, and then called her name.
- Queen Rebeca was extremely happy and excited upon seeing assistant General Suci awake and then she quickly hugged him thanking the gods. Assistant General Suci didn’t let the hug stay long before he separated from Queen Rebeca and told her he needed to see King Hartley and head General Ben right away.
- Queen Rebeca asked him why and told him that he needed to rest and could see them later but assistant General Suci insisted that he needed to see them immediately because Queen Rebeca was right from the beginning. Assistant General Suci tried to stand up on his own but couldn’t because he was very weak so Queen Rebeca helped him up and decided to help him walk to the council hall which was where the head King and great General were to hear what assistant General Suci has to say to them.
- A meeting was being held in the council hall when Queen Rebeca and assistant General Suci walked into the hall and that put the meeting on hold upon seeing Queen Rebeca and assistant General Suci. King Hartley and head General Ben were very happy to see assistant General Suci who was said might not survive very much alive. Queen Rebeca helped assistant General Suci to the middle of the council hall where assistant General Suci told her to stop, and then he bowed to King Hartley and head General Ben. King Hartley asked assistant General Suci if he was okay now.
- Assistant General Suci answered that he was and then he said to King Hartley, head General Ben, the ministers, and the generals in the hall “You all need to listen to me at this moment and it doesn’t matter whether you believe me or not but what is coming for us should be feared. Death is coming for us all, and if we don’t pack all our things and leave now there will be nothing left for us at the end of the day. Did I say nothing? There will not even be a single one of us left. We need to listen to the head Queen and run as fast as we can if we all want to survive”.
- Everyone was shocked and confused, and some were even scared by assistant General Suci's words. And they all looked at him to realize he was being serious. It was also known that assistant General Suci didn’t always talk unless he was asked to or needed to so for him to say such words means he was being sincere and serious about it.
- King Hartley was about to ask assistant General Suci what he meant by what he said but stopped when everyone saw a military messenger run into the hall and stop in front of King Hartley bowing his head. King Hartley asked the messenger why he entered the hall in a disrespectful, and then the messenger apologized and said there was a big trouble.
- King Hartley asked the messenger “what do you mean by big trouble? What happened?”.
- “Kynite kingdom had been destroyed by Arkians overnight” said the messenger fearfully.
- Hearing that, everyone in the hall became shocked and anxious while assistant General Suci and Queen Rebeca became terrified knowing what was coming for them.
