Chapter 27 Is This The Way Out

• The council was present in the council hall standing except for King Hartley, head General Ben, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, King Jeff, King Neur, and General Baci who were wounded and being treated in their respective rooms.
• All the ministers quickly rushed to the council hall after hearing what had happened to the head King, and upon getting to the council hall, the ministers met the other kings and generals in the hall. The ministers asked the other Kings and generals about the health of the head King. The other Kings and generals replied that they don’t know for now and the head King with the others are being treated by the priestesses.
• In the middle of the council hall was also the three recruits standing doing nothing. While everyone waited for Queen Rebeca and priestess Mary to come and give them news concerning the head King’s health and the others that were wounded also, King Rahim, King Duran, and General Dre remembered what they saw in the battlement.
• King Rahim, King Duran, and General Dre moved closer to the 3 recruits to ask the recruit that saved the head King what he had become. King Rahim, King Duran, and General Dre looked at the face of the recruit that saved the head King to see his face was back to normal and they became confused wondering if they were seeing things.
• King Rahim, King Duran, and General Dre find it too real for them to have hallucinated the recruit’s face so King Duran asks the recruit “what happened to your face a while ago?”
• The recruit answered that nothing happened to his face then General Dre said to the recruit “that is a lie. We clearly saw your face looking monstrous. It is better you tell us the truth now”.
• “I don’t know what you are talking about” said the recruit.
• “The punishment for lying to your leader is days in the dungeon but I will make sure you are beheaded if you don’t tell us what happened to your face and how come you were able to get so strong to be able to hit the Damn Arkian away” King Rahim bluntly said to the recruit.
• The recruit insisted that he didn’t know what they were talking about and King Rahim, King Duran, and General Dre pestered him to tell them the truth but the recruit denied what they were asking for. Just then, Queen Rebeca entered the hall and everyone’s attention was diverted toward her.
• Everyone in the hall bowed to Queen Rebeca as she walked to the throne, and upon getting to the throne, Queen Rebeca stopped and faced everyone. The ministers were the first to ask the head Queen about the head King’s health and the head Queen told everyone that he was fine with the others.
• Hearing that the head King was fine, everyone in the hall was glad and then Queen Rebeca told the council “there has been an upgrade with the soldiers and I would like to show you all”.
• The council wondered what the head Queen meant by her words but then they saw Queen Rebeca tell the 3 recruits standing in the middle of the hall that it was time which made them all look at the 3 recruits.
• The council watched the 3 recruits and they all suddenly saw the 3 recruits’ faces become monstrous, they opened up their mouths to show their teeth which had become fangs, their backs suddenly grew two wings, and they showed their fingers which had become claws.
• The council became shocked and terrified seeing what the 3 recruits had become with some of the council calling the 3 recruits monsters while King Rahim, King Duran, and General Dre realized they were telling the truth about what they saw the recruit become.
• Most of the councils almost entered the hall wall and ground seeing what the 3 recruits had become then Queen Rebeca told the council not to be afraid and to calm themselves.
• Only a few members of the council listened to Queen Rebeca and calmed themselves while the others remained scared. King Kung Lim asked Queen Rebeca “what is this? What have the recruits become?”.
• “I told you they have been an upgrade in the soldiers. You can call them vampires because that is what they are now” said Queen Rebeca to the council.
• “Vampires? Do you make them into this thing?” King Duran asked Queen Rebeca.
• “Yes, I do under the command of the head King” said Queen Rebeca.
• “That is ridiculous. His royal majesty will never agree to make the recruits into this monster” said the prime minister of Arcadian to Queen Rebeca.
• “Yes. His royal majesty will never agree to this. We are humans, not monster” said King Zuch to Queen Rebeca.
• “That is why his royal majesty will do the explanation himself so until then…… You all are not allowed to talk about this and it should remain a secret for the meantime” said Queen Rebeca to the council.
• “How can we keep this a secret? You are making the recruits into monsters” said the minister of whispers of Arcadian to Queen Rebeca.
• “If you value your lives. You will all do as I say” said Queen Rebeca bluntly to the council.
• The council was shocked to hear that and General Faruk asked Queen Rebeca “are you threatening the council?”.
• “I am not, and if you think that is threatening so be it. I only must make you all aware of this, the head King will do the explaining when he is better. This remains in the council. It must not get out. If there is nothing else, I would like to get back to what I am doing” said Queen Rebeca.
• The council watched as Queen Rebeca moved closer to the 3 recruits and said to them that it was okay, then the council saw the 3 recruits’ wings slowly go into their backs, their face become normal, their fangs become teeth, and their claws become fingers. Seeing that, the council was astounded that such a thing could ever exist, a hybrid of a human; a human and a vampire coexisting in one body.
• After the 3 recruits become human back, they leave the hall with the head Queen leaving the council in shock and thoughts. Immediately after the head Queen left with the 3 recruits, chattering could be heard in the hall.
• Inside a pavilion were King Duran, King Rahim, King Kung Lim, King Zuch, General Dre, General Faruk, and General Heron all present and were seated except King Duran who was standing. The Kings and generals all thought about the 3 vampire recruits they saw in the hall and how confident the head Queen was while talking to the council. General Faruk was the first and he said to the others “what do you all think is going on?”.
• “How do you expect anyone here to know about that? The head Queen is clearly out of her mind to make the recruits into monsters that she called vampires” said King Zuch angrily.
• “She is not out of her mind. I don’t think the head Queen is daring enough to make the recruits into vampires without the higher support” said General Heron.
• “Are you saying his royal majesty knows about this?” asked King Kung Lim.
• “General Heron is right. Think about it. There is no way the head Queen would go on and create monsters without the head King’s permission. Everyone fears his royal majesty because his order alone can move mountains. Even if his orders are against sense, we still all have to obey them. I am sure the head King knows about this” said King Rahim.
• “How can he approve of such a thing? This is evil” said King Zuch.
• “How is this evil?” asked King Duran facing the others.
• King Rahim, King Kung Lim, King Zuch, General Dre, General Faruk, and General Heron wondered what King Duran meant by that, then General Faruk asked King Duran “what do you mean?”.
• “If his royal majesty decided to turn the recruits into vampires then that means he is way ahead of every one of us” said King Duran.
• King Rahim, King Kung Lim, King Zuch, General Faruk, and General Heron were confused by King Duran’s words except for General Dre who said “his royal majesty is trying to save us all without minding the consequences”.
• Hearing General Dre, King Rahim said to King Duran and General Dre “It seems you both understand what is going on. So why don’t you make everything clear?”.
• “I and some of us here have witnessed the strength of the vampires, so why do you think the head King would permit the head Queen to make vampires?……… It can be no other reason than his royal majesty wanted to make the army as powerful as the Arkians” said King Duran.
• Hearing King Duran, the other Kings and generals thought about what King Duran said except General Dre who already understood King Duran. After thinking for a while, the other Kings and generals understand King Duran and General Dre, then King Rahim said “I get it now. That was why his royal majesty was always asking the head Queen about the task he gave her”.
• “This could not have been planned recently. It would have been planned for a while before the head Queen got it done” said King Kung Lim.
• “I also think the head King was looking forward to getting it done which was why he said before the battle that we just have to survive the night” said King Zuch.
• “But do you think this is right?” asked General Heron.
• “Why is it not? If all the soldiers become vampires then we will have a better chance at battling the Arkians. It has always been an unfair battle with the Arkians but if all the soldiers become vampires then it will become a fair battle and we will have a better chance at surviving before the full moon” said King Duran.
• “That is right. We will be able to survive till the full moon because becoming a vampire comes with strength like the Arkians and wings that we can use to fly. There is also nothing bad about becoming a vampire since we still get to keep our human side” said General Dre.
• “Okay, but how many are going to want to willingly become vampires, and how many are going to want to become vampires?” asked General Heron, and they all looked at each other since no one could answer the question.
• King Hartley opened his eyes to see himself standing in the middle of a very large room. King Hartley was surprised to see himself there and look around the room to see it empty. King Hartley shouted “hello” many times thinking someone was going to answer him but no one did, then King Hartley suddenly saw someone dressed in all white appear in front of him.
• King Hartley was startled upon seeing the person but upon carefully looking at the person, King Hartley realized it was an unknown old man. King Hartley asked the old man “who are you?”.
• “I don’t think that is necessary. You should be more worried about what you did to your people” said the old man to King Hartley.
• King Hartley was confused by the old man’s words so King Hartley asked him “wha….. What did I do to my people?”.
• “You made them into vampires” said the old man.
• King Hartley was shocked upon hearing the old man say that then he asked the old man “how are you able to know that? I have not even made them into vampires”.
• “But you will. There are also a lot of questions you want to ask but there is not much time for that now that you are also becoming a monster at the moment” said the old man.
• “We are not becoming monsters. This is the only way we can save ourselves since you gods abandoned us” said King Hartley bluntly.
• “I never said I was a god. Vampires are monsters and the reason why I said that is because have witnessed their reign. Their instinct is to always kill and that is what you made your people into” said the old man.
• “I don’t care as long as it keeps my people safe” said King Hartley.
• “I wouldn’t blame you for anything judging the fact that I was the one that brought the Arkians into your world and since then your world was destined to be doomed” said the old man.
• King Hartley was shocked and confused by the old man’s words and wanted to ask the old man questions but before he could the old man said to King Hartley “before the Arkians come into your world, I have foreseen a future of you leaving your world to a better world but then you making your people into vampires has changed their future. Your mistake for caring and bravery had led them to the worst future and you will also pay the price for that. Your people will suffer as you also suffer”
• King Hartley became scared upon hearing the old man then the old man said to him again “If you ever want your people to recover the peace and prosperity then you must be ready to lose everything”.
• Hearing that made King Hartley more scared and he felt a sword thrust into his heart.
