Chapter 13 We Stay Put

  • The shocking news of the Kynite kingdom being conquered by the Arkians had just got to the Bravmus kingdom, and King Duran and General Jay wondered if the news was true when the Arkians suddenly attacked the Bravmus Kingdom.
  • King Duran and General Jay weren’t allowed to think about the Kynite kingdom for some minutes before they were suddenly attacked and the army was quickly deployed to the great wall to defend the city. King Duran and General Jay bravely lead the army against the Arkians hoping they can be able to defend the kingdom and not be conquered like the Kynite kingdom but they could only try.
  • Immediately the battle began, King Duran and General Jay knew there was no way their army could stop the Arkians that were attacking them from conquering Bravmus nor could they defend the city from the Arkians but they still fought hoping they would be able to hold off the Arkains so they don’t breach the great wall and attack the city.
  • It gets to a point and then King Duran and General Jay realize they need to vacate the kingdom or else everyone in Bravmus kingdom will be killed by the Arkians. King Duran and General Jay left the battle with some soldiers and generals to get the people and vacate the city while the army kept holding off the Arkians.
  • King Duran and General Jay were able to escape the Bravmus kingdom with the people, some soldiers, and some generals before the Arkians killed all the soldiers and generals that fought them and laid Bravmus kingdom to waste.
  • It was a huge blow to the face of King Duran, General Jay, and the people of Bravmus kingdom that they lost their kingdom. It also saddened the heart of the Bravmus people but there was nothing they could have done to stop the new Arkians that attacked their kingdom or a way to protect their kingdom from being conquered by the Arkians.
  • After the defeat, King Duran, General Jay, the remaining soldiers and generals, and the people made their way to the Arcadian kingdom which was the only place they could take shelter in the meantime.
  • ARCADIAN KINGDOM
  • Head General Ben was with all the generals of the Arcadian kingdom in a small room and they were all dressed in their armor and were holding their swords. Head General Ben was on his feet talking and touching places on a big map that was hanging on the wall while the generals listened to him and looked at the map when assistant General Suci walked into the room holding his sword and dressed in his armor.
  • Everyone was surprised to see assistant General Suci dressed in his armor and holding his sword, and then assistant General Suci stopped close to head General Ben. Head General Ben asked assistant General Suci “what are you doing here, Suci?”.
  • “My duty as the assistant General” said assistant General Suci to head General Ben.
  • “You are not fit enough and healthy to be here. And his royal majesty have relief you of your duty until you get better” said head General Ben to assistant General Suci.
  • “I am healthy and fit, and this is the only place I could be and deserve to be” said assistant General Suci to head General Ben.
  • “I think you should sit this one out, Suci. His royal majesty has given his order nor do I want any trouble from the head Queen. You can always return to the army when you get much better. Your spot isn’t going anywhere nor can anyone dethrone you” said head General Ben to assistant General Suci.
  • “That is not a point. This is my life, not my elder sister's life. I will decide what I want to do with it and this is my decision. I am back and we are going on this journey together. You can’t just expect me to roam around the palace doing nothing. I am fit and healthy, and ready to fight” said assistant General Suci to head General Ben.
  • “I do not………….” said head General Ben to assistant General Suci.
  • Head General Ben was cut short of words as 6 soldiers entered the room and bowed to everyone in the room then head General Ben asked the soldiers “so where can we meet the Arkians?”.
  • “I don’t think that would be possible anymore” said 1st soldiers, and that got head General Ben, assistant General Suci, and the other generals confused.
  • “The Arkians have blocked every road there is leaving only the roads that linked the kingdoms open” said the 6th soldier.
  • “Head General Ben, assistant General Suci, and the generals were surprised and confused to hear that. Head General Ben thought out loud “the Arkians blocked all the roads leaving only the roads that link the kingdoms?”.
  • Head General Ben, assistant General Suci, and the generals thought about why the Arkian would do that, and after a while of thinking, head General Ben said he was going to the council hall to see the head King and the generals followed.
  • King Hartley was in the council hall having a meeting with the ministers when head General Ben, assistant General Suci, and the generals walked into the hall and they stopped bowing their heads in front of King Hartley. King Hartley was surprised to see the great general and the other generals as they walked in and when they got to him, he asked head General Ben “why haven’t you left yet?”:
  • “Our journey has become an impossible journey, your royal majesty. The Arkians have blocked all roads except the roads that link the kingdoms together” said head General Ben to King Hartley.
  • King Hartley was surprised and confused to hear that and then King Hartley asked head General Ben “why would they do that?”.
  • “That is currently unknown, your royal majesty” said assistant General Suci to King Hartley.
  • “This shows that the kingdoms are so much in need of our help, your royal majesty” said the prime minister to King Hartley, facing the head King.
  • Head General Ben was confused by the prime minister's words and he asked King Hartley “with due respect your royal majesty, what kind of help is the prime minister talking about?”.
  • “The remaining kingdoms requested that we send them reinforcement so it can help them defend their kingdom against the Arkians” King Hartley said to head General Ben.
  • “There will be no soldier sent to the other kingdoms” said head General Ben out loud.
  • The ministers were surprised to hear the great generals say that. Minister for wealth said to head General Ben “you do not have the right to say that nor can you give such command”
  • “Yes, I don’t. His royal majesty is not going to give such an order” said head General Ben to the ministers, and that annoyed the ministers.
  • “How dare you say that?” said the assistant prime minister with annoyance to head General Ben.
  • “Our army has to remain behind our wall no matter what because Arcadian is going to be the only place for mankind's survival. Though there haven’t been any reports of any survivors of the two defeated kingdoms, once the survivors are found they are going to make their way to Arcadian. Arcadian is known to be the biggest and strongest kingdom, and it going to be the only place to fight the last battle against the Arkains. I am not supposed to say this but the other kingdoms will fall and those who survive who find their way to Arcadian which will be the last hope for mankind” said head General Ben.
  • The ministers and generals were confused by head General Ben’s words. The prime minister asked head General Ben “what do you mean by the other kingdoms will fall?”.
  • “The new Arkains that conquered Bravmus and Kynite kingdom are not Arkains our armies can fight. The Arkians are more powerful and deadlier than all the Arkians we have ever fought. The other kingdoms' armies will not be able to protect their kingdom from the Arkians. They are all gonna failed and their kingdom will be conquered. After every kingdom fall, it would remain only Arcadian where both the survivors of each kingdom and we would join hands together to battle Arkians for the survival of mankind even though we might not win. So we need to keep, maintain, and train all the army we have at the moment for the last battle. I also think the reason why the Arkains block all roads leaving all the roads that link the kingdoms is because they all want the survivors of the other kingdoms to come to Arcadian. Arcadian will be the last target for the Arkians, and they wish to wipe us all out at once here in Arcadian” said head General Ben.
  • Everyone in the hall reasoned what head General Ben said to be true and then the minister for whispers asked “is there nothing we can do to change that?”.
  • “There is nothing we can do. The Arkains are way more crazy than the ones we have ever fought. We don’t have a force that can stop them which is why we can’t help other kingdoms but to preserve our army for the day the Arkians get to us. The great general is right, Arcadian will be a place for the last battles, and a place that will decide mankind's fate so we have to be prepared” said assistant General Suci.
  • “If the Kynite kingdom and Bravmus kingdom did not last a day against the Arkains, how long can we last against the Arkians?” the prime minister asked head General Ben.
  • “Everything begins in Arcadian which is why Arcadian is the strongest kingdom. Our great wall are higher than the other kingdoms' great walls, and our army also receives better training than the other kingdoms' army. We can only be able to stop them for as long as we can” said head General Ben.
  • Minister for for finance asked King Hartley “am sorry to say this, your royal majesty, but why don’t we listen to the priestesses and the assistant general? We don’t everyone pack our things and run till we are safe if there is no way we can stop or defeat the Arkians?”.
  • King Hartley said “that is the only option we have now and I was going to discuss that with the council. The priestesses have begun to prepare for our escape to another world but our escape will only happen on the full moon. Until the full moon, we will have to hold off the Arkians will all our resources and powers. You ministers should also prepare the people for the departure”.
  • Hearing from King Hartley made the ministers and generals sad knowing they had to leave their world to another world so they could survive and keep their legacies intact.
  • Within 6 days, Ophum, Vraklin, Navaner, and Warc kingdoms were all conquered by the Arkians, and all those who survived headed for the Arcadian kingdom which is the only last standing kingdom that hadn’t been attacked by the Arkians.
  • EARTH
  • Priestess Yen and General Zulu secretly began to raise an army for the coming of the creatures the priestess saw in her dream. They kept the army from the other kingdoms so there wouldn't be disagreement among the kingdoms.
  • The Kitsune remained imprisoned in the fairy cell waiting for the day it would get out and set its world in commotion so it could get revenge for what they did to it.
  • The Ghouls, the Changelings, and the other creatures that live in forests and abandoned places lay low in silence waiting for their master's return. The changelings had also been infiltrating kingdoms slowly to steal children they could raise and train into soldiers they could use to attack the other kingdoms one day so they could rule the invisible world. They also don't want to end it there.
