Chapter 21 We Have A Chance Ii
- For 3 days, the Arkians did not attack the Arcadian kingdom, and that made King Hartley, the other Kings, Princess Aris, head General Ben, assistant General Suci, the two priestesses, and the other generals wondered why the Attack didn’t attack them.
- During those three days, the blacksmiths made sure all the combat soldiers were equipped with a shield each by working nonstop to meet the target of shields needed for the combat soldiers.
- Princess Aris who was now a 3rd level general found herself lonely in the army because no one wanted to talk to her or have anything to do with her. Some even indirectly laughed at her saying she was not supposed to be a general but Princess Aris chose not to mind them because she is about to fight in a battle so she can prove to everyone how good and worthy she is. Princess Aris's goal is also to become a great general like head General Ben so she can be respected and loved by everyone who finds her unworthy.
- Prince Ranork and Prince Ragon are still shocked about the fact that Princess Aris was made a 3rd level general and they avoid her at all costs knowing she will make jest of them if she sees them.
- King Hartley met privately with assistant General Suci and the group of soldiers and told them their mission was to secretly go out of Arcadian to find a remote place where the people of all the kingdoms could take refuge and they should not return until they find it. King Hartley ordered Princess Aris to take the assistant General and the soldiers to the north great wall secret passage that led outside of Arcadian through the mountain, and she did.
- King Hartley also privately met with Queen Rebeca and priestess Mary and asked them if there was a possible way for them to create powerful creatures like the Arkians. The two priestesses responded that there are truly spells that can make deadly creatures in the dark world book but they are not powerful enough for the spells.
- Then King Hartley asked the priestesses “can you make the army stronger and faster like the Arkians? I don’t care even if you have to use dark magic”.
- Priestess Mary and Queen Rebeca were surprised and confused to hear such words. Priestess Mary said to King Hartley “dark magic is a dangerous and bad practice which is why the late priest/priestess never tried to practice it. We can’t do it”.
- “You have to at this point if you want all the soldiers to survive until the full moon. The reason why we always end up with much loss after winning battles against the Arkians is because our armies are not like the Arkians. If we had had armies like the Arkians we would have truly eradicated the Arkians”.
- “I understand you but you need to also understand us. There are always grave consequences to dark magic. The consequences might be too hard to handle. It is also risky. One can be consumed by the dark magic and lose her soul to the dark magic, and there is always a sacrifice to pay. We can’t do it” said Queen Rebeca to King Hartley.
- “I understand you both but we have no choice at the moment. I am sure you both can handle the dark magic and find whatever sacrifice the dark magic wants. You need to make the army powerful like the Arkians that is the only way we can make it out of Arcadian alive. You said the books also talk about other creatures. So why don’t you make the army one of the creatures in the book and find a way to still keep us human as we are? The consequences will be worth it if we survive the Arkians” said King Hartley.
- The two priestesses tried to change King Hartley's mind, telling him that he should forget about making the army powerful with the use of dark magic because it is dangerous but they couldn’t change his mind. The two priestesses realize King Hartley is desperate at the moment and is deafening to the advice and warning they are giving him.
- King Hartley insisted that the army should be made powerful by the priestesses using dark magic since they are not powerful enough to with just their magic.
- On the fourth day in the morning, the emergency alarm rang that the Arkians were moving out of the forest which means they are about to attack Arcadian again. King Hartley, the other Kings, Queen Rebeca, Princess Aris, the princes, priestess Mary, head General Ben, and the other generals all dressed in armor made their way quickly to the west great wall battlement with their weapons except Priestess Mary and Queen Rebeca with no weapon.
- Getting to the battlement, they all took their position as they watched the movement of the Arkians outside the great wall. Head General Ben ordered the combat soldiers to be stationed next to an archer each so they will able to use their shields to protect the archers from the Damn Arkians' arrows.
- Everyone in the battlement saw the Grim Arkians and the Ram Arkians walking out of the forest and that their number had gotten higher than before. Everyone in the battlement was expecting to see the Damn Arkians when they saw the Grim Arkians and the Ram Arkians but the Damn Arkians did not show up and the Ram Arkians and the Grim Arkians continue advancing toward the wall.
- Getting close to the wall, the Arkians separated into two groups. The first group consisting of the Grim Arkians and the Ram Arkians continued to advance to the wall while the second group consisting of the Grim Arkians and Ram Arkians stopped advancing.
- Seeing the Arkians separated into two groups, everyone in the battlement knew the Arkians wanted to continue with their strategy, and that made them glad that they would be able to stop the Arkians.
- Head General Ben told the archers to get their bows and arrows ready but they should not shoot and the archers fixed an arrow to their bows. Head General Ben waited for the first Arkian group to get to the wall and made sure the Grim Arkians had left the Ram Arkians to climb the wall before he ordered the archers to shoot the Ram Arkians climbing the wall.
- The archers rained arrows on the Ram Arkians climbing the wall, at the same time, the second group of Arkians began their attack. The Grim Arkians began to wrap their tails around the Ram Arkians and throw them toward the battlement but the two priestesses were present to hit the Ram Arkians thrown toward the battlement with their magical wall.
- King Hartley, the other Kings, the princes, Princess Aris, head General Ben, and the other generals didn’t join the archers in shooting the Ram Arkians climbing the wall because they were checking out for the Damn Arkians.
- Princess Aris was enjoying the battle because it was her first and she finds it exciting but her not doing anything makes her a little bit unhappy. Princess Aris wanted to be engaged in the battle instead of just watching like the other leaders so she got herself arrows and a bow and began to shoot the Ram Arkians with the archers.
- Seeing Princess Aris shooting the Ram Arkians, Prince Ragon and Prince Ranork also get themselves bows and arrows each and then join in shooting the Arkians so Princess Aris doesn’t take credit from them.
- The battle continued till afternoon and still, the Ram Arkians that were being thrown toward the battlement by the Grim Arkians and the ones climbing the wall failed to get to the battlement because the princes, Princess Aris, Queen Rebeca, the priestess, and the archers were making sure of that.
- King Hartley, the other Kings, head General Ben, and the other generals continue checking out for the Damn Arkians wondering why they haven’t come out of the forest yet.
- The battle continued till the late afternoon and at this time the Arkians had lost many Ram Arkians to the archers, the princes, Princess Aris, and the two priestesses who were killing the Ram Arkians with arrows and magical walls.
- King Duran was about to say to King Hartley that he doesn’t think the Damn Arkians would be attacking them today when they all saw the Damn Arkians ride slowly out of the forest on Arkians that looks exactly like wolves but bigger in size and horrible in nature. They all saw the Damn Arkians swords, arrows, and bows tied to the bodies of the Arkians they were riding.
- The Arkians that look like wolves are called the Warf Arkians. Even though they look like wolves, their bodies are still the same as that of the other Arkians and their speed is like that of the Damn Arkians. The Warf Arkians also have strength and a bite from the Warf Arkians can kill in seconds. The Warf Arkians have no teeth except Fangs and claws which are sharper than that of any Arkians. The Warf Arkians are dangerous and their tails are very long having a sharp edge that they use to kill. The Warf Arkians can only be wounded in the body and head but killed in the neck.
- Seeing the Damn Arkian riding the Arkians that look like wolves everyone in the battlement wondered how many Arkians exist and King Kung Lim said pitifully “How many kinds of Arkians even exist?”.
- King Hartley, the other Kings, head General Ben, and the other generals closely watched the Damn Arkians ride the Warf Arkians through the second group of the Grim Arkians and Ram Arkians toward the first group. As the Damn Arkians rode the Warf Arkians through the second group and headed toward the first group of Arkians, King Hartley orders the archers to shoot the Damn Arkians and the Warf Arkians.
- Some of the archers rained their arrows toward the Damn Arkians and the Warf Arkians but to their greatest surprise, they all saw each of the Damn Arkains pull out their dark swords which are made of ice and they used their swords to hit the arrows away from hitting them.
- King Hartley, head General Ben, the other Kings, the other generals, and everyone in battlements were surprised by what the Damn Arkians did. The archers wanted to shoot the Damn Arkians again but King Hartley told them to stop and joined the other archer in continuing shooting the Ram Arkians.
- King Jeff asked King Hartley “why did you tell the archers not to shoot again? Their arrows might be able to hit the Damn Arkians”.
- “It was never part of the plan to attack the Damn Arkians. I only tell the archers to shoot them to test how powerful the Damn Arkians are and it seems they are very fast enough to block our arrows with their swords. Besides, they can only be killed by beings like them not us” said King Hartley.
- The Warf Arkians stopped behind the Grim Arkians of the first group then the Damn Arkians put back their swords in their place and take their bows. The Damn Arkians fixed arrows to their bows and targeted the archers on the battlement.
- Seeing what the Damn Arkians did, head General Ben ordered the combat soldiers next to the archers and the ones next to the leaders to be ready.
- The Damn Arkians release their arrows toward the archers in the battlement and their arrows went straight to the battlement but their arrows were stopped by the combat soldiers’ shields that were used to cover up the archers and everyone other person in the battle so they don’t get hit by the Damn Arkians’ arrows.
- The Damn Arkians continuously shoot their arrows toward the battlement but their arrows were unable to hit anyone in the battlement because of the combat soldiers' shields that were protecting everyone which also gave the archers chance to be able to continue shooting and killing the Ram Arkians that were climbing the wall.
- The other Kings and other generals were happy with the way the battle fares because they haven’t lost a single soldier to the Arkians and they can protect themselves from the Damn Arkians' arrows except for King Hartley and head General Ben who knew the Arkians are smart enough to know they have to change plan since they are at disadvantage and are losing more of them.
- It was like the Damn Arkians could think like humans because they stop shooting their arrows after realizing their arrows were fruitless since the combat soldiers were blocking them with their shields. The Damn Arkians stop shooting arrows and did nothing except stare at the battlement.
- King Hartley, the other Kings, head General Ben, and the other generals continue to watch the battle when they all suddenly saw another large number of Arkians consisting of the Grim Arkians, Ram Arkians, and the Damn Arkians on the Warf Arkians come out of the forest and separated moving toward the north, south, and the east great wall gates.
- Seeing them and the directions they were advancing toward, King Hartley and head General Ben knew what the Arkians were trying to do so King Hartley anxiously said to head General Ben “every part of the wall needs to be protected right now or we will fall today”.
