Chapter 15 Stronger Than We Thought
- Queen Rebeca was confused and shocked that the books knew about the Arkains which made her more curious about the book. A look at the book could also tell the book was very old and that made Queen Rebeca think the book must have existed before the coming of the first Arkains. Queen Rebeca is curious about where the book comes from or where priestess Mary found the book, so to find out where she has to see priestess Mary. Queen Rebeca called a guard into her room and told him to go bring priestess Mary to her.
- Priestess Mary walked into the head Queen chamber and met the head Queen seated on one of the three chairs that surrounded a small table as she opened through pages of a book in her hand.
- Queen Rebeca finds herself so lost in the pages of the book that she was unaware of priestess Mary's presence in her room because she sees pictures of creatures that are shocking and overwhelming in the book. Priestess Mary sat down on another chair and had to say to Queen Rebeca “you kind of spoiled the fun I was having with the other Queens. Why do you even want to see me?” before Queen Rebeca regained consciousness to her surroundings and saw priestess Mary seated in front of her.
- Immediately the head Queen saw her, Queen Rebeca showed priestess Mary the book and asked her where she found the book. The looks in the eyes of Queen Rebeca show she was anxious and that made priestess Mary hesitate to answer wondering what was going on. Seeing priestess Mary was not answering, Queen Rebeca angrily asked her “tell me where you found the book right now?”.
- “You need to calm down, big sis, and tell me what is going on” said Priestess Mary, trying to calm the head Queen.
- “I will calm down when you tell me where you got the book” said Queen Rebeca.
- “Okay. I found the book in the old and abandoned small room of the first priest. It was magically hidden though but I found it with my magic” said priestess Mary.
- Hearing priestess Mary, Queen Rebeca thought for a while before saying “you couldn’t have just magically found the book in the room if you haven’t got an idea of it from somewhere? So who told you about the book or where did you read about it?”
- “You are right. I had a dream of someone hiding the book in the room magically and I went there to find the book, and then I did find it. Before you ask, I didn’t see the person hiding the book” said priestess Mary.
- “Okay. Do you know anything about the book?” asked Queen Rebeca.
- “I don’t really. I have never read the book. Is there anything wrong with the book? I am sure something is going on” said priestess Mary.
- Queen Rebeca opened the book to the first page and asked priestess Mary to read the book so she could know the book couldn’t be read because the language written in the book was unknown. Priestess Mary first looks at the big heading written on the first page of the book before she reads out “the dark world”.
- Queen Rebeca was astounded that priestess Mary could read the language and asked her if she was playing about what she read out but Priestess May told her no and asked her why she would do that. Queen Rebeca asked priestess Mary “you can truly read the book?”
- “Yes, I can. Why will I not be able to?” said priestess Mary, who was wondering what was going on with her big sister.
- “How is it possible that you can read this strange language?” Queen Rebeca who was confused asked priestess Mary.
- Priestess Mary was confused by Queen Rebeca’s words and she said to Queen Rebeca “are you trying to be funny right now or serious?…… What do you mean by a strange language?”.
- “Just tell me how is it that you can read the language?” said Queen Rebeca.
- “This is not a strange language, big sis. It is the same language we all speak. Father made sure we can all read and write so why will I not be able to read? Is this also the first time I will be reading to you? You are making me worried, big sis. You need to tell me what is going on” said Priestess Mary, who is confused by the head Queen's words and reaction.
- “That is not possible, Mary. I could not read this book's language is why I ask you to read the book thinking you would not also be able to the language then I can ask you who will want you to find a book that you can not read. The language in this book does not exist in our world so you clearly do not know about the language but then you can read the language which is me asking the question what is going on?” said Queen Rebeca confusedly.
- Hearing Queen Rebeca got priestess Mary more confused and then she said “that is not possible. There is nothing like this book is written in a strange language. This book is written in our language which is why I can clearly read it”.
- “I know what you are trying to do, Mary, but this time let's not try to show each other who is more powerful. You can talk to me and I will keep your secret. I know you did not use your magic to change the language of this book so I couldn’t read it because I would have sensed that. I need to know how you can read this book or where you learned the language” said Queen Rebeca.
- “And I am telling you that this book is written in our language not what you are insinuating. If this is a joke you need to stop it, big sis, it is getting serious” said Priestess Mary, who was now getting annoyed.
- There was a loud argument concerning the book language between the head Queen and the priestess which made 2 guards come into the room to check what was happening that made noise come out from the chamber of the head Queen.
- The head Queen and priestess Mary stopped arguing upon seeing the guards and then Queen Rebeca asked what the guards wanted. The guards reply that they heard noise which is why they came in to check what was happening and then Queen Rebeca angrily told them to leave. The guards were about to leave the room when a thought came to Queen Rebeca's mind and she told the guards to stop and moved closer to her.
- The guards moved fearfully closer to the head Queen thinking she was going to punish them but then the head Queen moved the book on that table closer to the guards and told the 1st guard that read the book. The 1st guard tried to read the big heading on the first page but couldn’t because he didn’t recognize the language then he said to the head Queen that he couldn’t.
- Priestess Mary thought the 1st guard could not read the heading because he could not read so she told the 2nd guard to read the book. The 2nd guard could not also read the heading and then Queen Rebeca asked the guards why they couldn’t and they replied that they don’t know the language.
- To make priestess Mary believe that it wasn’t because the guards couldn’t read, Queen Rebeca brought out another book for the guards to read and they read out clearly.
- Immediately after the guards left the room, Queen Rebeca looked at priestess Mary waiting for an answer but priestess Mary was so confused by what was happening that only she could read the language of the book. Priestess Mary couldn’t conclude after thinking why only she could be seeing the language of the book in their language while others say it is another language. Priestess Mary said to Queen Rebeca “I sincerely do not why only I can read this book”.
- Queen Rebeca thought for a while before opening the book to the page where she saw pictures of Arkians and then she asked priestess Mary to come read to her since she is the only one that can read the book. Priestess Mary read about the Arkians in the book to Queen Rebeca but Queen Rebeca wasn’t interested in what priestess Mary was reading to her because they were things she knew except for the fact that the Arkains came from a dark world called Argh.
- Queen Rebeca opened the book to the page where Arkains that have two heads, wings, 3 tails, and two arms picture were drawn and asked priestess Mary to read what was written about the Arkains on the page to her. Upon reading about the Arkains, priestess Mary and Queen Rebeca become so frightened that they go out of the head Queen's chamber leaving the book to go get a horse each and then they make their way to the west wall.
- The Arkians were still unable to make it to the wall which was the only way to get to the battlement because the head King, the other kings, the princes, the head generals, the other generals, and the archers made sure they continued to shoot them down as the Arkians advanced. The Arkians also did not retreat even though they were reducing in number because they were getting killed.
- While they killed the Arkians, the army calculates the remaining advancing Arkains which was 100,000, and that made them happy that they would be defeating the Arkains with just arrows and not casualties but then another Arkains came out of the forest and began to advance toward the wall.
- Everyone was surprised upon seeing the Arkains that just came out of the forest because the Arkians have two heads, two wings, two arms, and 3 tails, and they are way bigger than all the other Arkains. Just merely looking at them, they knew the Arkains were giants Arkains, and their number was just 50,000 but that didn’t stop the archers and the others from continuing to shoot the Arkians.
- Head General Ben told the archers to wait for the giant Arkains to get close to the wall before they began to shoot the giant Arkians but in just a blink of an eye, the giant Arkains were closer to the wall which means they were very fast and that got everyone in the battlement frightened. Even though they were frightened, they continued to shoot their arrows at the other Arkians.
- The giants Arkians stopped when they got closer to the wall but they stood horizontally without doing anything. The head King, the other Kings, the princes, the great general, and the other generals wondered what was going on with the giant Arakian but then suddenly, all the Arkains stopped advancing and began to retreat behind the giant Arkains.
- It was known that the Arkains are creatures that don't retreat even though they are getting killed so seeing them retreat behind the giant Arkains was so surprising to everyone in the battlement but they were all happy to see the Arkians retreating except the great General and the assistant General who knew something was up.
- Head General Ben told the archers to stop shooting the Arkians as they retreated behind the giant Arkains and the archers and everyone did. King Hartley asked why head General Ben gave such an order and he replied “something is up. The Arkians don't retreat and now they are retreating behind the giant Arkains like they are their messiah or something”.
- King Hartley and the others reason what the great General said to be right then head General Ben asked the other kings and their generals if they saw the giants Arkains attack their kingdom. The other kings and their generals replied that no and that was the first time they are also seeing the giant Arkians.
- Hearing that, head General Ben thought for a while before ordering the archers to shoot the giant Arkians and the other Arkians. The archers rained arrows toward all the Arkians but what happens when the arrows get to all the Arkians was shocking and terrifying. Everyone in the wall battlement saw the giant Arkians raise their wings so high to make a cover for themselves and the other Arkains to protect them from the arrows, and the arrows were not able to penetrate the giant Arkians' wings when the arrows touched them.
- Everyone in the battlement couldn’t believe what their eyes had just seen so King Hartley ordered the archers to shoot all the Arkains again and the same thing happened, their arrows couldn’t penetrate the giant Arkains' wings, and just fell after hitting their wings. King Hartley and head General Ben even shoot arrows at the giant Arkians but the arrows couldn't pass through the giant Arkains' wings nor could the arrows penetrate the wings.
- Everyone was greatly stunned by what they had just seen the giant Arkains did but then they suddenly saw all the giant Arkians wrapped each of their three tails around an Arkian each and then threw them forward toward the wall battlement.
- Seeing what had just happened again made everyone in the battlement remain stunned that they just watched the Arkians sent by the giant Arkains with the use of their tails flying to the battlement unable to do anything.
- Everyone in the battlement regained consciousness when they saw the Arkians that were sent toward them hit a magical wall and fall to the ground before they could get to the battlement, and behold it was the head Queen and the priestess that saved them all.
