Chapter 28 Why

• King Hartley opened his eyes to see he was in a hall and no longer in the room he had just dreamed about. King Hartley realized he was lying down on the floor so he decided to sit up to get a clear view of where he was. As King Hartley sat up, King Hartley felt something strange about him and he saw head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci were all next to him and were just waking up, and about to sit up.
• King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci all sit up looking confused wondering where they are and what is wrong with them because they all feel strange but King Hartley realizes they are all in the secret hall. King Jeff asked “where are we?”, after realizing it was night.
• At the same time, King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci looked around the hall and saw Queen Rebecca and priestess Mary who were standing at one side of the hall talking to each other and weren’t aware that they were awake. Seeing the two priestesses, Princess Aris called weakly “mother”.
• Hearing Princess Aris, the two priestesses walked hurriedly to them, and upon getting to them priestess Mary said to them “glad that you are all awake”.
• King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci wondered what priestess Mary meant by her words so King Jeff asked priestess Mary “what are you talking about?”.
• “We weren’t so sure you were going to wake. Actually, we thought you might all die” said priestess Mary to them.
• King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci remained confused by priestess Mary’s words so King Hartley asked her “what are you talking about? What happened, Mary?”.
• “Why am I also feeling somehow? As in weird” head General Ben asked the two priestesses.
• “Whatever you are all feeling now is just for a short while and you all losing memories is normal. You will get better and regain your memories after completing the transition” said Queen Rebeca to them.
• King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci were also surprised by Queen Rebeca’s words then Prince Ranork asked his mother “what transition, mother?”.
• “You will understand in due time” said Queen Rebeca to them, then Queen Rebeca said to priestess Mary “go get the blood”.
• While priestess Mary left to go get the blood, King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci kept demanding to know what was going on but Queen Rebeca insisted that they should calm down until priestess Mary is back.
• Priestess Mary returned with a bowl made of calabash filled with blood and placed it in front of King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci. Seeing the bowl filled with blood, King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci were confused so King Neur asked the priestess Mary “why is a bowl filled with blood in front of us? All we demand to know is what happened and why do we all feel strange”.
• “I will explain later but first you all need to drink a little drop of this blood” said Queen Rebeca to them.
• King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci all find what Queen Rebeca weird wondering why they had to drink the blood. King Hartley asked Queen Rebeca “why should we drink the blood?”.
• “Because you have to to complete the transition” said Queen Rebeca to them.
• “You need to stop getting us confused and tell us what is truly going on” said head General Ben to Queen Rebeca.
• “Yes. What transition and why do we have to drink blood like an animal or monster?” Prince Ragon asked the head Queen.
• “I don’t think I can even drink the blood. I can even barely remember anything” said General Baci.
• “Tell us what is going on, Mother” said Princess Aris to Queen Rebeca.
• Queen Rebeca took a sigh and asked them “do you all trust me?”.
• Hearing Queen Rebeca, they all looked at each other and gave no response. Priestess Mary said to them “no answering shows you all do. So you all need to drink the blood”.
• “Do we have to?” Prince Ranork asked the two priestesses.
• “Yes” said priestess Mary.
• Even though they all don’t remember much, they all know the head Queen and the priestess wouldn’t do anything to hurt them so they decide to drink the blood. King Hartley was the first to drink the blood before passing it to head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci drink.
• After they all drank the blood, they all suddenly felt light and strong then all their memories came back. King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci remember what happened in the battlements which made them look all over at their bodies searching for their wounds. Not seeing the wounds or scars of the wounds in their bodies made them all confused then King Hartley and head General Ben asked how come they were still alive while Princess Aris, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, King Neur, King Jeff, and General Baci asked where all their wounds have gone.
• Queen Rebeca was about to give answers to their questions but then Prince Ragon suddenly screamed out painfully touching his back which made King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Princess Aris, and General Baci all look at him wondering what was wrong with him. Head General Ben wanted to stand up and go meet his son to ask what was wrong with him when he suddenly felt a great pain in his back and screamed out loud.
• King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci all find themselves continuously screaming out loud in pain touching their backs, their teeth, and hands. They all crawled around the room in pain and at the same time they asked Queen Rebeca and Priestess Mary what was happening to them.
• Queen Rebeca said to them “you are all in another step of the transition. It is better not to fight it so you can get through it easily and the pain will reduce. Embrace the pain and what you are about to become. The pain is only for a short while”.
• Hearing Queen Rebeca, King Hartley knows what Queen Rebeca meant by what she said but head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci ask what it is they are changing into and why they are changing. Queen Rebeca chose not to answer them and watched with Priestess Mary as they all changed.
• The pain stopped when King Hartley, head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci all fully became vampires. Head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci were all dumbfounded seeing what they have become, looking at their fingers that have become claws, touching their teeth that have become fangs, looking at the wings that grow out of their backs, and touching their face that had become monstrous, except King Hartley that was glad of what they have become which means the ritual was successful.
• Head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci couldn’t comprehend what they had become and were still in great shock looking at their whole body but then, head General Ben angrily said to Queen Rebeca “what did you do? What have you turn us into?”.
• Queen Rebeca and priestess Mary can see the shock on the faces of head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci after realizing what they transit into except for King Hartley who was glad so when head General Ben angrily asked Queen Rebeca what he had done to them, King Hartley answered instead.
• King Hartley said to head General Ben “I need you all to calm down”.
• “How can we calm down, your royal majesty? Don’t you see what the head Queen did to us?” said General Baci to King Hartley.
• “What did you do to us mother?” Princess Aris curiously asked her mother.
• “Do you even need to ask that? She made us into monsters. Does being humans come with wings?” said King Jeff.
• Hearing what King Jeff said, head General Ben, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci all reason it to be true and that got them angry. Prince Ragon angrily asked Queen Rebeca “why did you make us into monsters?”.
• “First, I did not make you into monsters. I made you into Vampires” said Queen Rebeca to them.
• “Whatever. We never told you to do that. Whatever it is you made us into is no different from a monster. I never ask for wings and all this I am seeing. You change my body” said King Neur angrily to Queen Rebeca.
• “You all need to calm” King Hartley said to head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci.
• “Why are you taking her side? Don’t you see what she made us into?” said head General Ben to King Hartley.
• “That is because I told her to” said King Hartley out loud.
• Head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci were all shocked to hear that and they looked at King Hartley in disbelief. Head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci were so shocked that they all saw their wings go into their backs, their fangs become teeth, their face become normal, and their claws become fingers and they return to human because they couldn’t believe their ears.
• Head General Ben asked King Hartley “did I just hear you correctly”.
• “Yes, you did. Even though there has been an upgrade to what I told her to do” said King Hartley.
• Hearing that made head General Ben, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci astounded and couldn’t comprehend what was going on. King Hartley said “first, let’s get out of here and I will explain everything to you all”.
• “What are you talking about?” How could you do this? How could you make us into monsters” said head General Ben to King Hartley.
• Prince Ragon, Prince Ranork, and Princess Aris sat on the floor because they still couldn’t comprehend what was going on just like King Neur, King Jeff, and General Baci.
• “I said I would explain to you all but first let’s get out of here” said King Hartley to head General Ben.
• “I am not going anywhere not until you tell me why you did this” said head General Ben angrily to King Hartley.
• “Are you trying to question your head King at this moment?” said King Hartley with annoyance to head General Ben.
• Head General Ben moved closer to King Hartley facing him and looked straight into King Hartley’s eyes before he angrily said to King Hartley “I think you just lost that post after revealing that you did this to us. If you want to become a monster that your problem not making me into one”.
• “I can have you imprisoned for this” said King Hartley angrily to head General Ben, as he stared back into head General Ben’s eyes.
• “I bet you to try” said head General Ben angrily to King Hartley.
• The head King and the great General stared into each other eyes angrily and held their fists while the princes, Princess Aris, the two other Kings, and General Baci chose not to mind them because they were still in shock at what they had been made into. Queen Rebeca moved to the head King and the great General knowing it might result in a fight because they were both taking it too seriously.
• Upon getting to them, Queen Rebeca held head General Ben’s arm saying to him “we can talk about this, Ben”.
• Hearing that made head General Ben angrier and he took his arm back saying to Queen Rebeca “get your filthy hands off me, you witch”.
• Hearing that made King Hartley angry and he punched head General Ben in the face. The force of the punch was so strong that it sent head General Ben out of the room breaking through the wall.
• Everyone was shocked by what had just happened and they all looked at King Hartley to see him in vampire form which made King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, and General Baci realize that whatever the head Queen made them into comes with great strength.
• Queen Rebeca tried to stop King Hartley from going to fight head General Ben but she wasn’t able to. King Hartley, King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, General Baci, Queen Rebeca, and priestess Mary were all now outside looking at King Hartley and head General Ben glaring at each other as they faced each other.
• King Jeff, King Neur, Prince Ranork, Prince Ragon, Princess Aris, General Baci, Queen Rebeca, and priestess Mary all tried to prevent the fight that was about to happen between the head King and the great General but the head King gave orders that no one must interfere or else they will be charged with treason.
• The head King and the great General were both in their vampire form as they glared at each other before they ran toward each other to attack each other.
