Chapter 22 False Accusation

• CLARA'S POV
• " Phew, that was close Clara. Innocent people almost died because of you" I soliloquise , hitting my chest gently while I walked slowly down the stairs. The fact that I got to know that Leo was my boss, was the greatest shock of my life. It kept on bothering me until I was about to open the kitchen door, then I remembered the people who I had sent to the torture room, because of my mistake. I became worried about what they were going to think of me, they would definitely be angry with me. I turned the door knob slowly in order to check if they were in the kitchen but the kitchen was deserted Instead. I stepped into the kitchen with my left foot, followed by right then I shut the door behind me. I looked round just to be sure that no one was in the kitchen, after I was convinced that I was the only living thing in the kitchen, I walked quickly to the second door that lead to the maids quarters. I needed to have a quick bath and a change of cloth. I opened the door and I stiffened unexpectedly, like I had just seen a ghost. The maids were at the door and were about to come into the kitchen, they had just been released. They looked horrible, their hairs were scattered, with their face swollen from the everlasting cries they had while in the torture room.
• They let out a loud sigh, full of anger, pushing me as they entered one after the other until I fell on the floor. The last person to enter was Renata, she stopped walking when she saw me, instead she stared at me and shook her head in disappointment before walking past me.
