Chapter 48 SAVE AT LAST

• Carlos began to look round, clearly searching for me. He asked my men where I was, but none gave him an answer. Unexpectedly, my phone began to ring out loud. " Damn! Was I with my phone? Why would I be with my phone?" I whispered silently in pain and anger, switching off the phone without after taking a quick glance to know who was calling. Now I needed to get ready to face Carlos because he has definitely found me. Today's attack wasn't going as planned, because of the Red Devil arrival, if only I knew that they were also going to be here, I would definitely had a plan B. Carlos turned his head to the direction he heard the phone ring from, he began walking towards the podium slowly with a gun in his hand. Carlos had always been scared of me right from the very first day we met in one of the Mafia's yearly party.
• "I wouldn't stay here and allow him find me, It would only make me look so pathetic" I thought, standing immediately before limping out of my safe spot. When Carlos saw me, he ran back instantly, avoiding to look at face. He looked round continuously like he was looking for something. "Everything should end now, I would be leaving here with my men first" I said and was about to leave, when Alexei shouted " No! You can leave" I looked at him with confusion written on my face, arching my eyebrow. For the first time in my life, I am settling an issue peacefully which was unlike me. I was doing it because I wanted to leave this hall alive as I was already injured, the usual me wouldn't care if I die or not.
• I looked up at Alexei, only to see that he was pointing a gun at me. My men rushed towards him suddenly, pointing their guns at Alexei while his men did same. " You dare raise your gun to kill me? After I even saved your life you ungrateful soul?" I asked him, looking directly in his eyes and all I could see was guilt and fear. "Kill me if you can" I turned and began to limp, heading to the door. Carlos laugh made me stop and I raise my head to look at him while he kept on laughing, moving closer to me and I wondered why his sudden change of attitude. He stood at my front confidently and said " I didn't know injuries could make you weak, here I was thinking you were a god but it seems you aren't " He continued to laugh, before bringing out a gun and pointed it at my face. At this point I was mad, two idiots were pointing guns at me because they think my injury made me weak. I was about to bring out my gun when I remembered my men outside with snippers.
