Chapter 75 Seventy Five

• Just after Eleanor had dismissed them from Lila's longest breakfast in a long time, Jasmine arrived at the manor. Lila felt happiness and relief wash over her. She was glad that she did not have to third wheel her mother and sister anymore and did not need to fight the confusion she felt when it was just her and Levi. She knew that her father would be angry to know she was getting soft for the man they had put her to marry. Yes, none of it made sense to the simple man, but she could never remember her life making sense to anyone before now.
• "I will leave now," Lila announced without waiting for her mother to dismiss her. She stood up and walked to the exit without a word.
• "Why does she act like that?" She heard her mother ask and she wanted to go back in and tell her that she was the reason she acted the way she did but she knew that there was going to be a fight over this if she did that so she let it slide off her back without waiting to hear if anyone would defend her or agree with her mom, just to appease her.
