Chapter 65 Sixty Five
- Lila could not sleep the entire night; her mind kept going back to what her dad said, so as soon as she saw the sun peeking out of the clouds, she was in the bathroom freshening up to go see her father. She could not let her mom think she was an unreasonable child; after all, she had scolded her about it yesterday, and she had promised to do better.
- Levi had gotten up at the same time she did, and he had gone out for a run. "He really does take his fitness seriously," she murmured as he stepped out of the room. At the moment, she barely had her act together, so how could she be thinking of getting fit?
- Levi walked back into the room after a few minutes and she was all dressed, ready to go. He knew that she was going to visit her father, but he felt bad that she had to be gaslighted into going there. He understood that as a child, you'd feel some certain obligation towards your parents, but he did not like the way her mother had made her feel last night. He wanted to stop her, but he knew that she would shut him down the moment he suggested that she not go there.
