Chapter 61 Sixty One

• “Call me; I won’t accept any excuses," Shawn said, glancing at the smartphone he had given Alicia the day before. Donald had approved Alicia's divorce, and she had accepted Shawn’s proposal in Donald’s presence during dinner that evening. However, marrying Shawn came at a hefty cost. Donald insisted that if Shawn and Alicia are to wed, they would forgo their rights to the Blood Stone pack, meaning Shawn would not become the alpha. Since Alicia is to be the Luna of the Shadow pack, Leo would remain the alpha of the Blood Stone pack. Essentially, the Blood Stone pack would be taken from the Stone family.
• Alicia had been too shocked to react, although Shawn wanted to object to the condition, Donald wouldn’t hear of it. In his own words, Shawn had already had his hands full with Shadow pack and matters of the palace, the last thing he would want is having his attention divided. He also stated that because he knew Shawn might end up giving the pack to Alicia as a wedding present, thereby indirectly making her an alpha, he must take the pack from them. In his own words, he would not allow Alicia or any woman to be an alpha.
• Donald didn’t try to hide his distaste for their marriage, Shawn and Alicia understood that he was trying to force Alicia to reject the marriage, knowing that regaining Blood Stone pack meant more to Alicia. However, Alicia had withdrawn that night, claiming to need time to think. Shawn had met her, promising to get the pack back for her, and that she doesn’t need to give up on their union. He reminded her that their marriage was that of contract which means that both must have what they want and since taking back Blood Stone pack was what she wanted, he would get it for her; she just needed to believe in him. And so, the next day, Alicia told Donald at breakfast that she was willing to sacrifice the pack, which had come as a shock to Donald, but there was nothing he could do; she had met his requirement.
