  • Mason didn’t respond. He didn’t know what to say. But after thinking about it for a while. He’d told Abigail to let him know the minute Chris arrived in the conference room. They hadn’t spoken since that night. Mason hadn’t wanted that confrontation so soon after the night in his apartment. Emotions had run too high. But he couldn’t wait a minute longer. He and Chris had to air this out, and Mason had to let Chris know that he wasn’t backing down.

He went along the hallway, aware of the extent to which he looked. He didn’t care. He needed to vent about this. Without knocking, he pushed the door open. Chris's expression turned icy as he raised his head.
