Chapter 23

• A knock on her door awoke Lisa after practically crying to sleep. She woke more tired than ever. Standing up, she pulls on her jeans and heads out of the bedroom. She didn’t even know when she pulled off all her clothes when sleep came upon her. She felt shitty after everything that went down with Ross. She knew how uneasy her relationship was with Mason, but she didn’t mind ending a good relationship that was sure of a future.
• She walked towards the door and opened it; Mason was standing there in all his glory, looking at her with an almost angry look. She wondered what could make to be angry, seeing as the last time they saw each other was after their office fiasco. He walks through the door to where her phone is on the counter and puts in her password. She wondered how he even knew it, but this was Mason again. He was a man who always got what he wanted, and if he did not, he always found a way.
• “Can you explain to me why you did not pick up your calls?” he said, facing the phone screen towards her. She had 12 missed calls from him. Boy, was she in trouble? She still had some sleep in her eyes. She had to rub her hands over her eyes to ensure she was fully awake.
