Chapter 69

  • Lisa felt as though someone had stuck an ice pick directly through one of her eyeballs when she first opened her eyes. Mason was standing in her bedroom doorway when she groaningly moved away from the light source coming through the window. He was wearing jeans and a T-shirt, and as his eyes drifted down her body, he had his hands buried in his pockets. She wasn't sure if her intense reaction to the hot-as-hell sight was due to how infrequently she saw Mason wearing jeans or if he simply looked amazing in denim.
  • “You feel terrible, don’t you?” She didn’t pretend to misunderstand what he meant. She nodded, the motion hurting her head all the more. He pushed off the doorway and walked to the bed, settling on the edge next to her. “The car is waiting out front. Get dressed.” Her brow furrowed.
  • “Where are we going?” She didn’t want to move. She wanted about another six hours of sleep. Maybe then she’d wake and her head wouldn’t hurt so badly.
