  • Lisa escaped into the ladies’ room in relief. She touched up her lipstick and surveyed her reflection in the mirror. To her surprise, the door opened, and Leslie entered, positioning herself in the mirror next to Lisa. Leslie glanced over conspicuously before reapplying her lipstick as well.
  • Leslie was a business associate, Chris, but after she got fired for trying to sell business information for cash, she got fired. She was very snotty, so Lisa didn’t like her much. She always stuck her nose into matters that didn’t concern her. Lisa couldn’t help but wonder what she was doing at this party tonight anyway. She didn’t care to ask, so she figured ignoring her was the best option, and hopefully, she would go away.
  • “So, tell me,” Leslie began, still intent on her lipstick application. Why was she talking to her now? Lisa thought. “Is the gossip true about Mason Remington and the expectations he has for his women?” Startled, Lisa nearly dropped lipstick and tugged it into her small clutch. She turned to Leslie, taken aback by her audacity.
