Mason closed his eyes, buried his face in her hair, breathed in her perfume, and savored the feel of her against his flesh. She was already a part of him. He knew that more deeply, in his innermost being. An image that wouldn't fade away over time.
“Lisa, I don’t think I deserve you,” he whispered. “I’ve let you down and yet you still had enough faith in me to come to me with this.” She pushed at him, putting small distance between them.
