• Imelda folded her hands in her lap and stared as her grand daughter packed her things into a large suitcase. "Have you asked Viktor about the Mayor attending the Summit of the Packs?"
• "Is it because I'm packing that you decide to ask that?" Eliza grunts, stuffing several more clothes into her already overstuffed suitcase. "No, I haven't. I don't know how I'm going to broach the subject, to be honest."
• "Perhaps you can start by asking him about what his plans are for the Summit itself," Imelda said, sighing. "I know that is a very old-fashioned way of thinking about it, but as a werewolf, he will have little regard for humans and their feelings. It is important that we convince him - or better yet, have him convince the Mayor - to allow him to come to the summit, where you will introduce him to the rest of the wolf packs that Viktor holds sway over as Alpha." She frowned. "Have you packed your undies?"
