Chapter 27 What The Goddess Will Show

• Jenna hung up and rushed to her car. The airport. That made sense with what Siti had divined earlier. What did she say? Up in the air, flying far away? When Jenna first heard that, her first thought had been that Jack was on a plane somewhere, but she hadn’t pursued the airport angle since she had no idea where Jack Fisher could be heading - not to mention that his name hadn’t come up in any passenger manifests that she could dig up, either alone or with Captain Titus Stormclaw’s help. This finding only confirmed Siti’s reading, but the question now was why?
• The airport was, as most airports were at twelve-thirty am, empty. There wasn’t anything more eerie than seeing a normally bustling space with no people, but that was the situation at Redcliff Airport tonight. Jenna had gotten through security and into one of the parking lots using a mix of the power of her badge and an old favour with one of the officers stationed at the airport. She wasn’t sure exactly what she was looking for, but had followed her instincts and asked to be led to the runway, which was most likely where Jack Fisher had headed - or had been taken, if Siti’s divination of him being abducted by werewolves was accurate.
• Jenna frowned as she stared out over the runway, the light of the moon illuminating the tarmac in a silvery glow. She looked around, searching for signs again, but not seeing anything and not knowing where to look. Briefly she wondered where this thread she was pulling on would lead, if it led anywhere at all. This whole thing stank to high heaven - Jack Fisher loading his guns with more silver than he could afford streaming his anti-werewolf rhetoric online, being abducted by werewolves and dragged to the airport in the middle of the night. Who was he meeting? Who were the werewolves? And why was he here at the airport?
