Chapter 58 Family
- POV – Alice
- The next two days were very exhausting, but I felt more motivated than tired. With every hour that passed, my body began to feel like my own again. Sara’s questions about our family helped to distract me from the pain.
- Michael was right, the massages weren’t exactly pleasant. My muscles were like jelly and the therapist was kneading dough out of them. At least that's how I felt. The physiotherapy was painful, as were the massages, but I was glad to be moving on my own, so I didn’t complain. By the evening of the first day, I could move my hands almost freely, even if it took a lot of strength, my legs were a bigger problem, but I worked on that too. I was happy that I could finally eat on my own, even if I still had difficulties with the cutlery. The next day I was able to stand up on my own and even take a few steps, but it was a challenge as my legs had to hold my whole-body weight. And on the third day, as the doctor had said, I was able to walk through the corridors and exert myself a little more. Michael came in every day to check on my condition and make plans for the next few days. I decided that he didn't need to come to see me as I could walk again and come to the hospital myself. He agreed with me because he thought I needed longer walks and fresh air, but he asked me to take someone with me while I was still weak enough, just in case.
