Chapter 31 Uncertainty (Pt 2)

• It’s been about three hours since we got here. I looked up at Liam. He had gone too quiet a while ago. I smiled when I saw that he was fast asleep. Carefully, I listened. His heartbeat is very steady. Yeah, he must be asleep. I noticed that the book he had chosen was lying on his chest. He was only halfway through it, though. Sorry, Liam, I thought to myself. I’m not sure if he would go with me or try to stop me, but I couldn’t risk it. And I didn’t want to put him in danger. He still feels in debt and wouldn’t care if he had to risk his life for mine. I’m sure of that.
• I got up quietly and tiptoed out of the room. I’m glad the door here opens quietly. I listened carefully before making my way into the hallway. I didn’t want to run into Brandon or Shawn. It would be good if I could avoid everyone else too, because they might know I was supposed to be with Liam, but that was almost impossible.
