Chapter 38 Misfortunes

• I thought Jared would take me to his pack, but I woke up in the unknown room. I wonder how long I was out. I touched my face and winced a little because it hadn’t fully healed. It was still swollen and I could feel a small cut that was turning into a scar. The Alphas' wounds can leave scars and it takes longer for them to heal. The weird thing is that an alpha can leave scars when he’s your alpha only, and Jared is not my alpha for a while. I don’t understand that. It’s so uncomfortable that I am not able to feel my connection to everyone when I am too far away. I only feel more anxious this way.
• Slowly, I looked around to see if there was anything I could use to attack or defend myself. The room itself looked pretty creepy. The walls were painted blood red and the seal was black. The paintings on the walls depicted naked female figures in various poses, and every single one of them was in restraints. A cold shiver ran down my spine. I must flee. They didn’t hold up their end of the bargain, and I won't hold up mine. I wonder where they are keeping Sara.
