• Everything went well until we finished the spell. I was eager to help our packs destroy the enemy, but everything changed the moment we unleashed our orbs on each other. Right at that moment, I saw a red laser shoot straight at Alice’s chest. I was startled. I didn’t understand how and she just looked at me, happy and confused at the same time, then turned her eyes away to the sphere on top of the fountain. I quickly rushed to her, only to catch her falling. I prayed that the moon goddess wouldn’t take her away from me, but at the same moment I saw her close her eyes. I felt anger, pain and other emotions welling up inside me, but most of all I felt my mark start to burn. It was about to break, she was dying. I didn’t know what to do and just as I was about to scream for the medical team or Carol for help, she appeared beside me and placed both hands on Alice’s chest and without casting any spells, I noticed the waves of light energy entering Alice’s body and stopping the bleeding.
• ‘I am sorry, my dear, I'm so sorry. I shouldn’t have let my guard down. I thought she wouldn’t do anything rash as she was already dying. I was wrong. I'm so sorry.’ Carol’s cheeks were wet with tears and her forehead was drenched in sweat as if she was gathering the last drops of her strength to help Alice.
