Chapter 34 Failure

• We‘ve been waiting quite a while now. Harry hasn‘t bothered me too much, except for a couple of times when he tried to tease me, but otherwise we have mostly been silent. He didn‘t let his guard down after I reminded him that my pack might catch up to us soon, and I didn‘t let my guard down either. I tried to mind link Shawn, but it wasn‘t possible. He's probably keeping as much distance as possible to avoid detection, and his senses are very sharp, I guess. It‘s no wonder he's the beta of one of the biggest packs in the country. I read somewhere in history books that when people were one with our wolves, before the sealing spell was cast, it was possible to mind link each other over great distances even if you‘ were not in the pack‘s territory. I wonder if the fact that I don't feel my wolf inside me most of the time has something to do with the upcoming red lunar eclipse or with the fact that I am the key to breaking the spell. What if I don‘t make it and we‘ lose our wolves forever? I wonder if I‘m the only one who thinks like this. I was torn from my thoughts when I heard footsteps nearby.
• ‘I heard you came alone, but I couldn‘t believe you wouldn‘t prepare traps and surrender so easily.‘ Harry stepped out of the dense forest behind him into neutral territory. He was dirty, I guess he hadn‘t shifted into his wolf on the way here, but no wonder – his territory is not far from here.
