Chapter 10 – Lightning

• It was as if time had stood still. I heard thunder and felt a single drop of rain fall on my cheek.
• Suddenly, a quivering flash of lightning made me open my eyes, and the moment I did, I felt sparks surrounding my body as Brandon’s face was in front of me and his hand gently caressed my cheek. I felt my arms being released and turned to see what had happened. I saw Daniel crash into a tree a few meters away. His body was covered in burns, but he was still cautious. Before I could turn around to check on Liam, I was lifted up and Brandon started to carry me in his arms.
• ‘Wait! What about Liam?!’ I shouted, trying to free myself from his grip. I was still trying to understand what had just happened. Was it Brandon’s lightning? Is he that strong? How fast is he?
