• Eric’s POV
• The night air was bitterly cold, seeping into my bones as I walked beside Elaine. She shivered, wrapping her arms around herself in an attempt to keep warm. Without a second thought, I removed my jacket and placed it over her shoulders. She hesitated, glancing up at me as though she wanted to say something, but no words came. Instead, she turned her gaze to the moon, as if searching for answers that refused to come.
• It had been days since we escaped from the witches, yet we still haven't heard anything regarding Kathie, and it was beginning to appear that Elaine was losing her memories. When we first arrived, she seemed to have details about what happened to her and Kathie, but all of a sudden, all of that had become a thing of the past.
