Chapter 128

• Eric and Caden stood in the dimly lit chamber, their wrists and ankles bound by thick iron chains that seemed to dig into their skin like cold, unforgiving teeth. The cold stone floor beneath their feet seemed to leech the warmth from their bodies, leaving them feeling chilled to the bone. The air was heavy with the scent of decay and rot, a noxious odor that filled their lungs and made their stomachs turn.
• They had been attacked by a group of ladies and had been taken unawares, even before they could tell what was happening.
