- I sat in the corner of the damp cell, staring at the cracks in the stone floor, refusing to meet Elsa’s gaze. Her sobs had quieted, replaced by an oppressive silence that pressed against my ears. My anger still burned fiercely, a fire I wasn’t ready to extinguish.
