- The weight of the conversation with General Greene clung to me as I walked away from the camp. The cacophony of preparations faded behind me, but the unease only grew stronger with every step. I couldn’t shake the image of Kathie—her kind eyes, her laugh that used to light up the room, and then the thought of what was likely to happen to her and the rest of the werewolves if General Greene was to launch his attack on the werewolf estate.
