Chapter 2018 The Culprit

  • One of the strangers hastily questioned her. "What is it? What happened? What's up with your drawer? Did you lose something?" They looked like they had been searching for something earlier, so most of the people already figured out what was going on. Cindy let out a smile. "It's nothing." She had never been a talkative person, and her short sentence immediately dashed the hopes of her colleagues who wanted more gossip.
  • The stranger looked at Cindy's table for a while before her gaze landed on the broken drawer. Cindy ignored her and continued doing her work with her head lowered. After she finished the general outline of a sketch, she put her work aside. She wasn't thinking much about her missing documents, but Ian.
  • Time was rather tight for Cindy that afternoon. She had to go home to prepare a meal, and then she had to get a ride to the hospital and spend the remainder of her time eating with Ian. That was one flaw of a couple having different jobs—they'd find it harder to make time for each other if they each had their own schedules and duties.
