- Since Leah had no idea whether Ian was telling the truth, she only humored him with a smile. “I’m sure you might not be certain about this. Why don’t you go and ask him? You see, one has to fight for their own interests. He treated you quite well when you were at the hospital, so perhaps he’ll tell you if you ask him.”
- Everything she said sounded like she was probing for a response, so he ignored her suggestion in favor of pointing out, “It’s his business as to why he’s looking for a lawyer. It has nothing to do with me, nor am I worried about it. If you really want to know, you can call him yourself.”
