- Ian swirled the dumplings in his bowl around. “Why do you make it sound like my life will fall apart without her? I can cook, and it’s easy to order takeout. If I really can’t cook, I can just order something.”
- Aurora clicked her tongue disapprovingly. “Takeout? Takeout is devoid of any nutrition. Don’t eat so much of it.” She then hastily added, “How about this then? I’ll come over and cook for you for the next few days. Didn’t you eat my cooking last time? It was still edible, right? I’ll take care of you. I don’t have anything to do now anyway, and Cindy can take over once she’s back.”
- Ian frowned. “No, you really don’t have to. Don’t make it sound like I can’t handle living on my own.”
