Chapter 27

I slowly turned around, and I was face-to-face with the black witch. She was looking at me with a menacing smile on her face, and I was trying not to shake in front of her. Because I am scared to death right now. I was alone, and Connor thought I was safe while he was trying to protect his pack. He didn’t know that there was anyone out here with me.
I didn’t even know what to say to this woman. I knew how powerful she was, and I knew that I didn’t stand a chance against her. There’s no way that I could stand a chance against her. She had years to develop her powers, and I hadn’t done anything with mine except protect Connor that one time at the cave. I was able to put up a protective shield, and I knew that it wasn’t going to be enough to fight this witch.
She raised her hand slightly, with the same look on her face, and I felt my throat constricting, and I was being strangled by this invisible force, and I was being raised off the ground. She then threw me a couple feet away until I was thrown into another tree, and I fell to the ground.
