Chapter 26

• We wanted to stay in bed all day, lying there doing nothing. We’d had a couple of really hard days, and I didn’t want to get up and do anything today. But we knew that it wasn’t possible. We were still responsible for an entire pack that hasn’t had a real leader around here for a couple of days.
• Connor had complete confidence in his pack, and he knew that they would be alright the whole time that we were gone. But they still needed a leader. Especially after everything that my father had been throwing at us lately and that he had a black witch on his side.
• Witches were mostly good, but if you knew where to look, then you could find the ones that had turned to the dark side. And that’s exactly what my father had done.
