• Kerry observed her and saw once again that look of hatred and contempt that Jade had. Just like in the beginning, he couldn't bear it and got up from the bed without saying anything, went down to the kitchen, and started cleaning up the mess they had left earlier, as a way to keep busy and think about something other than the woman upstairs.
• When everything was ready, he started preparing her food, once it was ready, he went up to bring it to her.
• Jade, on the other hand, couldn't stop thinking about how different the Kerry she had known was, compared to the insensitive one that had manifested downstairs. She also couldn't forget the sad look he had while telling her she was just like her father; that caused a deep tightness in her chest.
