Chapter 3

• For a few seconds he remained unmoved and without any idea of how to react, as no one had ever shown him any affection before, let alone kissed him, and he did not give them or receive them. But moments later he composed himself and with his usual arrogant and cruel attitude he inquired, "Who the hell do you think you are to be kissing me and slobbering all over me?"
• Jade moved away from him as if he were burning hot, and her face turned crimson with embarrassment. "I'm sorry, it was an impulsive act. I promise it won't happen again," the young woman said timidly.
• "Of course you shouldn't do it again. I hope that great professional ability everyone is attributing to you is true, because according to everyone you are the eighth wonder of the world," he said sarcastically with a smirk, "I hope you're not trying to use attributes you lack." He pointed out, running his eyes up and down her body, "because truth be told, you're not my type. I can't imagine a woman like you in my room. Besides being unattractive, you're common and I think you would run away in horror at my tastes, not to mention lacking in wealth. No, woman, I would never waste my time with you unless..." he paused for a moment, "you were like one of my pets. I have three dogs, I need a female dog," he concluded with a laugh.
• His mockery did not sit well with the head of human resources, who clenched his fist in anger. That man had never been a saint in his eyes, but at that moment, he was trying to control himself to not jeopardize his job, as he felt the urge to punch the idiot for the way he was treating and mocking the girl, who bowed her head in acceptance and humility.
• "That's more like it! Now go and prepare coffee and bring it to us," he ordered. When the girl turned around, tears welled up in her eyes, causing her to not notice and trip over a chair. She would have fallen to the ground if Mr. Watson had not caught her, which annoyed Kerry.
• "You are definitely useless! Clumsy!" he snapped irritably. "You know what? I've been thinking and it's best if you stay away from me, because you'll make my ulcer burst. Tell Samantha to bring the coffee herself and find something productive for you to do, because I'm not going to pay you to laze around."
• With that, the young woman left the office without looking back, and Kerry stayed behind, watching her with a look of anger. "I hope that stupid girl does something beneficial, because if she doesn't perform and you chose her for reasons other than her professional talent, you'll be leaving with her. Now get out of my office!" As the man was almost reaching the office door, he added, "I almost forgot to tell you: if you don't like how I treat the staff in this company, you can hand in your resignation and you don't even need to bring it personally, just send it by mail."
• As the man left his presence, he exclaimed aloud, "Idiot!" and went back to reviewing some documents, pushing aside what had just happened.
• Jade spent the rest of the day learning about the office operations, digital and physical filing systems, memo and official letter formats, meeting minutes, and a myriad of other activities. Samantha was amazed by the young woman's intelligence and capability, and as she had to leave before the end of the workday, she did so calmly.
• The girl had meticulously and calmly organized the files, as luck would have it, her boss had left the office and had not returned. However, she felt exhausted; the lack of sleep, combined with the stress of the day, especially during the early hours of the morning, was taking its toll. She couldn't control a yawn and felt her eyes closing. She had already finished her workday, in fact, she had gone over by exactly an hour, but the overwhelming urge to sleep was too much to resist. She decided to lie down at her desk for at least twenty minutes before leaving, as she was afraid of falling asleep on her way home, where she wouldn't be able to rest because she had to go to the hospital.
• Kerry entered the office to retrieve some documents for a meeting he had early in the morning. As he entered the reception area of his office, he made sure everything was in order. When he saw the new secretary sleeping at her desk, he couldn't believe his eyes. She was the epitome of audacity, he thought, while anger boiled inside him.
• He clenched his fists tightly at his sides, determined that it was necessary to teach the audacious woman a lesson. He even considered firing her and getting rid of the discomfort her presence caused him, he thought smugly.
• Kerry shook his head disapprovingly as he thought that the young woman was definitely cheeky " What a bold woman! " He exclaimed out loud " And they say she is very diligent! The last thing I needed was for her to come and turn my office into her bedroom. Hasn't anyone taught her that this should not be done? How can she be so clumsy? But I will teach her a lesson so she knows that you don't come here to sleep."
• He walked to the kitchen area, took a glass, added ice, filled it from the cold water dispenser, and then headed back to where Jade was sleeping. He slowly turned the glass over on the girl's face and the cold liquid began to drip on her. The girl's sleep was so deep from exhaustion that she did not wake up immediately, but seconds later.
• "God! What is this?!"
