• I shift in bed, excited to wake up in the arms of my honey for the first time in two weeks, but find myself alone in bed. Was I dreaming? I know he came home last night for my birthday, and we had amazing sex.
• “Hani?” I call, but no answer comes. Maybe he’s with Jaden. I smile, happy that my little family is together again. I bounce out of bed about to join them when I see an envelope on the bed and a bunch of gifts before it. I pick up the envelope with a smile four years later, and he still does this every year on my birthday.
